Default House Painters in the Puget Sound area?

Anyone recommend me a good house painter?

Yourself? It's really not that hard. Just do a little research, rent a sprayer from Home Depot, and save yourself hundreds of dollars.

I have no interest in doing it myself.

Let me ask my wife who painted my house while I was deployed. They did a fantastic job.

Are you talking about inside or outside?

I'll let you know. Also I believe my next door neighbor is a contractor. He might want the job. Where do you live?

I painted our house last year and let me tell you, just hire SOMEBODY ELSE It wasnt hard, just a PITA to do, and it took around a week to finish. 2 story around 2k+ sq ft.

Even though you originally wanted to hire somebody else, don't let anyone talk you into DIY'ING. I would recommend college pro guys. Competitive prices. And when they get there show them a fake Inquiry that you made stating a price that's way low, and they will probably beat it. Good luck

Agreed. I am fully capable of painting a house, but my time and sanity is worth more than my money.

As long as the paint is in good condition then you could go with the cheap guys. If not I would spend a little extra and get somebody with some skill. You don't want the guys that just paint over dirt and bare wood. It's all about the prep.

I used to be a painter and I can tell you that you get what you pay for. It may cost a couple hundred dollars extra but the paint job will likely last more than a few years longer than the cheap job.

I'll second the prep work, make sure your quote includes pressure washing, caulking and sealing joints and properly masking vents and windows. The cheap guys will just slap paint right on top of dirt which will cause it to fail and peel in a short period of time.

Also, not all exterior paint is the same, be sure you use the right paint for the job and don't opt for the wallmart brand exterior paint. You'll pay for it later when you have to re-do the job again.

I use Driftwood contractors it is run by two close personal friends of mine, but they're located in North Seattle. I'm not sure if they'll do work in Kent and I wouldn't expect them to be the cheapest quote you get. You can call Kelly or Paul and tell them Joe recommended them. FWIW Kelly is a former Marine. Contact info here and here
