Well that is way too expensive. I think I will just get these Depo lights when I get my income tax return.

You can keep an eye on the forums too, I got my EDM (correct beam) for $600 took a good bit of cleanin up and some fixin but ended up good. I've been watching this DEPO guys for a bit now and am curious to see how the light output/quality is. I want to see some actual photos of the back and how its put together.

Personally I am mostly interested to know how are the internals, like how is the bracket that holds the projector, or what is the shape of the projector. My guess is the bulb access hole is probably too small to be able to see something inside on pictures.

But you an post any pics you got, we love pics

Maybe a better pic of the back with the covers off?

What's your overall impression of the lights? Also I haven't seen confirmation that these use the same 1156 in the blinker and 168 for the parking light. Can you confirm?

They do in fact use the 1156 for the blinker and a 168 for the parking lights. The low beams are h1's and the high beams are 9005's

i used a 7507 bulb for the blinker (replacement for the specified py21w) and a t10 led qhite bulb for the running lights....i am going to be wiring my lights up quitew differently than anyone else im sure though because of the fact that my bug doesnt have the factory plug and play harness. i will be running H1 hid bulbs in the projectors for low and then 9005 halogen high's which i will independently wire up myself not using a connector. pics of the housing will be posted up in 5 mins.....

also: are you planning on just doing the plastic tab mod on the 9011/HIR bulbs for the highs?

Yes, from what I've read it's all that's needed to fit the 9005. At 2350 lumens, there isn't another halogen on the market that can touch them.

HIR 9011 do not emit any more heat than a 9005, at least not a significant one if any.

Not really, it's stock wattage(65), the filament burns much hotter than a normal halogen, but the bulb temps aren't much more than a standard bulb.

Again, this is what I've read here on the forums and Daniel Stern's writings. I have not used these bulbs personally yet, but not much scares me...

The only other thing I may do is a clear protective cover from Lamin-x or equivalent.

Its been a while since I ordered my last bundle of HIRs, it was back when the Toshibas were still availableand it was from hirheadlights.com, make sure to read the information on the website if you dont know about HIR, it is quite intersting.

http://hirheadlights.com/

I would make sure to buy from a reputable seller as the Philips 9011 are very similar looking to 9005 and if you buy them say from a random ebay seller you have pretty high chance of getting scammed with counterfeit bulbs.

That was the other site lol! I wish I had my hands on an old set of the Toshiba bulbs to compare the difference with the gen 3 Phillips bulbs.

I can see it now, you've got me thinking about the heat, I'm gonna be standing in the garage with my laser thermometer trying to get temp readings on the inside of the housing :-/
