Default Cylinder 4 misfire code to 02 downstream back to cylinder 4

Had a cel on my 02 2.5RS, had it scanned and it was a cylinder 4 misfire. Bought new plugs and wires and installed them. Drove it and got the code again. Swapped injector 2 to 4 and visa versa to see if the problem moved. Had it scanned again and it was a new code...downstream 02. Bought a Bosch 02 and installed it. Drove it for a bit and got a CEL again. Took it back in to get scanned and it was the misfire code again. Read up on the forum of guys saying to replace the fuel filter. It kinda made sense to me that possibly the cylinder 4 is the last injector to to get fuel so a dirty semi clogged filter may hinder cylinder 4 spray. Bought a filter and installed it and reset the ecu. No code yet! And its been 4 days of driving alot

If it comes back check your exhaust gaskets for leaks. A buddy with an 03 had the same issue. After he finally went and had the gaskets checked and replaced the check engin light went away. His was a sever amount of leaks though, WRX and every gasket from the headers to the mid pipe were leaking.
