Post in the wtb section. Someone who upgraded to aftermarket headers must have a stock manifold up for sale. Saves you the trouble to drop your exhaust manifold and take that old crosspipe apart.

Thanks for the responses, this is helpful. Do you know which model years are compatible and if its the same between sedans and wagons (assuming STI versions are different)

Looks like you just need the cross pipe heat shield, I may have it, I'll check tomorrow and message you.

Are you having an exhaust leak? Or just want to replace because of the rust?
If its just the rust, unbolt the shield and hit the rust with a wire brush attachment, then spray with hi-temp paint. |

Are you talking about the hole in the picture (middle of the center rust)? If it is just that hole then you don't need to worry, that is just a heat shield. If you have an exhaust leak, then it could just be gaskets.

Thanks for the heads up, sounds like I may only need to replace the shield and inspect the rest of the crosspipe to make sure there's nothing else wrong.

As said above, there is no reason to replace a heat shield with a small hole in it.
A small hole in your heat shield can actually be a good thing. That way if oil leaks into the shield somehow, it will drain out the hole, instead of filling the entire heat shield with oil and then catching fire. There was a big recall on the 2013 Chevy Cruze for that problem, I believe. Although I've never heard of it happening on a Subaru...... |
