In. I may still run non-competetive with SR/PR group to avoid the driver swaps. It really was more relaxing to drive for the fun of it at the last event that I ran. I'll let you know at registration.

Bilbo Automotive (Gorka) will have a pitcrew posse and enclosed trailer of tools supporting 6 drivers on the main track if anyone encounters mechanical mayhem needing help or tools they didn't bring. Planning on camping, bonfire and karting weather permitting.

What "new" class, and why might this be the last? Last we heard the venue was no longer in limbo.

It sounds like the site will still be available for rallycross for next year. IIRC Adam said something about it during the driver's meeting at one of the last couple events.

I am so excited to see you drive Dave. I just cant sleep waiting to see your lap times on that monster Laser that Carlos built.

I just hope you are not scared to step on it a bit!

Fixed and changed some things since I did the rallyX w/ fried ABS computer (ABS bypassed & removed now) and blown strut. But I'll be on a rally suspension for the time attack and coilovers set at lowest without screwy camber won't be ideal for blistering track times.

Body roll left, body roll right being passed by every Miata on turn1-turn10. Boost down main straight passing every Miata. Repeat.

Scared? They have cushy tire walls, gravel traps and runoff areas! Meh. Run the barn course and let me do a run w/ the Hoosiers in late afternoon.

I saw the grader doing some work on the long course yesterday.
A little rain fell today but should be dried out by the weekend.

Yay rally!

Anyone know who owns the white Sentra with Entropy Racing stickers and dcrally.com stickers? Caged? He parks it next to my office in Reston... looks darned familiar. Someone here, or did they sell the car to a random?

I hope so.

If anyone is looking for a place to crash I have two empty rooms, a couch and tons of floor space only 20 minutes from the track.

First and foremost we would like to thank all of our competitors and volunteers for making this the most successful season in history for the WDCR SCCA RallyCross program. We would also like to give a huge thanks to the first company to specifically sponsor our program, MachV Motorsports (www.fastwrx.com). We had the highest average entry count we've ever had. A lot a folks came to each and every event and a lot of folks stepped up to help organize the madness. The season saw quite a few new competitors that have now become regulars. The weather cooperated nicely with only 1 event rescheduled due to rain. It was a safe season as well, with only a few debeads and a couple break downs. We had the introduction of the timing display which has been great for providing instant feedback when exiting the course. The competition was very tight at each event and throughout the season. Gone are the days of stopwatches and large margins. Now were seeing events and season championships won or lost by fractions of a second. Congratulations to all of the following season champions:

M4
Champion- Matt Berkebile
2nd- Adam Kimmett
3rd- Mike Vess

PA
Champion- Jason Valenta
2nd- John Roscinski
3rd- Jeremy Miller

SA
Champion- Josh Baker
2nd- Jim Golden
3rd- Mike Golden

MR
Champion- Roberto Moreton
2nd- Josh Hickey
3rd- Nick Drymalski

PR
Champion- Steve Nichols
2nd- Shawn Roberts
3rd- Chris Helgesen

MF
Champion- Jim Kelly
2nd- Matt Huffman
3rd- Steve Hyatt

SF
Champion- Michael Lanier
2nd- Tom Gsell
2nd- Brice Leconte

We're planning to hold our annual awards karting and dinner event Saturday January 11th, 2014 in Sterling, VA. As usual, karting will be held indoors at AllSports Grand Prix, beginning promptly at 6pm. Please plan to be there around 5:30pm to allow time to register and prepare. This year, however, we're going to bring food to MachV Motorsports shop and have dinner in their shop! BYOB. Awards will be presented during dinner. Karting should cost around $50 and dinner should cost around $20 for each person. Bring your friends and family! We have setup an event on DLBracing.com to assist in formulating an accurate head-count. (http://www.dlbracing.com/clubs/wdcr-...6&EventID=5489) Please register yourself and also create an entry for each person you plan to bring along so we can get an accurate head count. It's free to register. Karting and dinner payments will be made at the event. Registration will close the Wednesday prior to the event.

Now for some somber news. From Summit Point Raceway management- "It is with deep regret that I write to inform you that Summit Point will not be able to accommodate the Rally group in 2014....Rest assured that this decision was not an easy one to make, as we recognize the importance of this growing sport." The rumors about the State Department taking over the land had been milling for the past year and unfortunately it seems those plans have now solidified. The region is now actively investigating alternate sites to use for the 2014 season. We have the goal of finding a venue that is both as large and fun as Summit Point was, but everyone knows that's no easy task. So, we're calling on all of our competitors, friends, and family to help! Please keep your eye out for any piece of land we might be able to use and spread the word. The site stipulations are rather basic. It can't be paved, it can't have steep hills, it must be an open area without rocks or trees, and it must be within our region. Other than that our options are pretty wide open. If you happen to be driving down the highway and spot an awesome field, let us know. If you know someone that has some land that's not being used, let us know. If you're spending hours on google maps looking at satellite images and spot something, let us know. Basically, even if you just have an address or location and no contact information, we're interested in exploring it further. The region is determined to continue growing our program and is calling on all of you to help if you can. Please email rallychair@wdcr-scca.org with any leads or for more information.

We look forward to seeing everyone at our karting and dinner event January 11th at 6pm and we look forward to a new chapter for DC RallyCross in 2014!

Cheers!
Adam Kimmett
