Default Hissing noise????

When i got home today and shut off my car i could here a hissing noise, the noise could be heard from around the turbo area it sounded like water was dripping on it. I was wondering if this is a common sound, like some sort of cooling down feature that Subaru has designed...were it burns off coolant in order to cool down the turbo..

It's the turbo cooling off. Subaru designed it so that even after you turn the engine off, coolant still circulates through the turbo until it is cooled off. Nothing to really worry about. If you want to help the turbo cool off faster, try staying out of boost the last few minutes of your drive or by letting the engine idle while you're gathering up your stuff to get out of the car.

if coolant is still circulating after we shut off our cars, then there really is NO reason for a turbo timer, right?

According to Subaru, you do not need a turbo timer. Some people get one anyways just in case. I prefer to just drive off boost the last few miles and let the engine idle while I'm gathering my things. It's up to you, but I'd rather spend my money on something else.
