Default Has anyone shaved off their side markers?

I got to thinking. I really hate those orange lenses, but like everyone else, after purchasing the clear ones and realizing their fitment is not as good as stock, I pretty much hate them. Not to mention one of mine is already taking on fog on the inside after washing the car, or rain, because the seal is already broken.

With the WR Blue cars, I personally think the white OEM European ones look like crap. The STi carbon fiber ones only really look good on a silver or white WRX. Simply putting blue inserts in, defeats the whole purpose of a side marker to begin with.

Now to keep the car legal, has anyone shaved their side markers, and added the STi clear side indicators, which sit further back on the fenders? If so I'd love to see pics of this, and also what the cost would be to shave the stock side markers, if anyone has done so.

Chad

i covered my stock ones with carbon fiber look vinyl. looks the same as the real carbon fiber ones, fits as good as stock (cuz it IS stock), no light shows through, no worries about condensation, and the best part, it cost $5

I just got my clear side markers and installed them.. and I'm really disappointed how crappy they are (for $50 too!) and the fit is just horrible. Come to think of it, the stock side marker doesn't fit so great either.. I think its that clip.

I'm planning on grinding the clip and most everything on the back except for the light socket off with my dremel and then sticking it to the car with glue or double sided tape. I'll post pics when I do it.
