Default im buying a 2012 wrx stock kicker subwoofer will it work in 09 wrx

Today im buy a oem kicker subwoofer that came in a 2012 wrx hatch. im getting the wire harness and the bracket. Will it work in my 2009 wrx hatch with my stock headunit. plase help me out thanks

I would assume that subwoofer needs an amp to drive the power...

The amp is built into the box. I believe this would work as long as the main harness is the same that the sub plugs into.
