Default head unit blue tooth ?

Hello fellas. new to the forum but i have had a 2011 wrx for a while and just up traded to a 13 sti hatch. My ? is in my 2011 wrx when i got into the car and started it the bluetooth would auto pair up with my phone. now in this new 13 sti i have to manually pair it every time i start the car. I cannot find the settings to fix this issue does anyone know what im talking about and the solution?? the head unit appears to be the exact same as the 11. any advise would be appreciated.

thanks.

They do not know whats up with this situation i did already. it has a sensor in there that wont let me pair if the car is in motion so i have to remember to do it at a stand still when i start the car. the other one didnt have that sensor and just paired up by itself and would resume my music where it left off which was really awesome. i hope there is a setting that can be messed with to fix it.

Likely a phone settings issue. My new 2013 WRX Hatch (base) pairs automatically after starting up.

That being said, there has been one occasion since I got it where I had to re-pair the phone for some unexplained reason. It had stayed paired for many starts before and after the event...

I remember reading in another thread that you need to pair it using the voice recognition setup, otherwise you'll always be manually pairing it.

make sure you deleted all the bluetooth stuff out of your phone, maybe they used the same naming scheme/pin as the original 2011 on your 2013. 9/10 resetting the wi-fi/bluetooth/whatever setting for pairing laptops/phones, etc for any wireless setup will resolve this kind of issue. Let me know if that helps.

I had an issue with my '12 - Don't try to setup/pair directly at the headunit...
only go through the steering wheel controls....then it'll stick, at least that's what I found with mine.

Yup - I had the same issue, and when I unpaired it and paired it using the steering wheel controls with voice everything works perfect. It pairs automatically everytime now.

try to pair one of your friends iPhone see if it does the same thing, if it doesn't pair your friends iPhone then definitely something wrong with head unit, if it does pair, then its your iPhone

I have the same issue with my SG3. I found this app called 'bluetooth audio' for my phone and it solved the pairing issue..

Default Pairing Blackberry Bold and older iPod via BT

I have a newer Blackberry Bold and an older iPod Touch (3rd gneration maybe?). Both are Blue Tooth compatible and I was able get both working separately. Is there a way to have my iPod playing music via Blue Tooth AND have my phone paired via Blue Tooth at the same time?

Thanks,
Rob

Yeah I noticed when I installed new rom on my phone and had to re-pair my phone. I have to manual pair it everytime when I did it through the HU. Deleted all saved devices on my HU and used the SWC to pair and it automatically sync everytime now.

So, I can pair my Blackberry AND my iPod through the steering wheel commands?

You should be able to. Make sure your device is discoverable. Press the "Talk" button then say "Set Up" then just follow the instruction the car gives you.

Thumbs up Paring via voice promt worked

i bought my 2012 Subaru WRX and was wondering about the auto connect not working. This just solve a problem Ive been having for almost a year.
hope in to your car turn the key to on( the engine doesn't have to be started) and start talking to your car set up, phone pairing, start pairing in your phone now and done you're good to go. Worked for my galaxy s3.
