They can't give you a ticket right now anyway due to an error on the last time they reworded the laws.

You can get ticketed, but not fined.

Been waiting for years for that. Around the east TX DPS are the only ones that enforce it. And they DO with an iron fist.

I see this as a two fold benefit.

1. obviously we don't have to make our cars look uglier with front plates
2. it saves the state on cost for producing 2 plates when we only need 1 and I bet they still charge us the same for half the plates to register

Damn now to find a bumper piece to pop in the one I cut for my grimmspeed plate relocator.

Just had the F150 pass inspection in Denton County with a ****ed up front plate, due to a jack ass slamming on their brakes. But that's another story.
Shop said it was okay due to Texas not requiring front plate.

Front plates have nothing to do with annual inspection...

Not to burst anyones bubble but this has NOT been passed it has only been introduced in the house as a bill to become an act. You can go to the Texas state Legislature website and track it.

Yeah as of right now there's no specified fine for not having a front plate, you can still be ticketed for it though, which doesn't really make sense.

The state is already raping. It was $250 for my custom plates and to switch state registration to Tx. They didn't charge for the plate it's self b/c it's a military plate, they charged extra for application for 5 letters of my choosing. And the lady didn't tell me that it cost extra till after. That's my insurance for 2 months, I hope those license plates carry the same value

Well...to be honest...I run into very few LEO's that enforce it. If you have a suburb in your area that's known for being dicks, they will. But most everyone else doesn't give a **** since they only use your rear plate when pulling you over for something.

I've not had a front plate on any of my cars for the past 10 years...been pulled over for it once and got a warning.
