Yes, that's what I was referencing when I suggested checking the post history. Wish he'd come back though.

Really? Please, tell us how this secret Subaru EEPROM flash counter works... As an engineer I am really intrigued at your knowledge. Please share....

Considering the entire stock ROM image is saved, and then completely replaced as it was upon proper unmarry. If there was a "counter" in the stock ROM, it would be included in the image that the AP saves and thusly restated to what it was when the AP was originally used. (as Bill at Cobb has mentioned before they suspect a ROM based counter of some kind due to them detecting slight variations in the code) So a ROM based counter does not detect a AP. Now, outside of that IF they used an external, separate microprocessor based subsystem who's only purpose is for data logging ECU related operations they would most definitely see it. As far as anyone knows Subaru doesn't use this (yet).

The other possibility is that while revving it up then shifting into second you stuck the clutch and you destroyed the friction disc, same result you can start the car but it either won't go into gear or if it does it feels like neutral, if the car doesn't move now it's the disc

I am confused. How would any of his mods directly affect his transmission and cause it to break? Driving style maybe, but I thought they had to prove that a mod caused the break before they could void the warranty. Subaru is very quick to bring out the "abusive driving" card though and the OP admits to it.

First off... for the slide, if you wanted to be a little NICER to your car, you should have got moving in first and then shifted into second. The actual sliding should have been done in second gear otherwise you'll end up like 50% of YouTube... bouncing of your rev-limiter. Not all slides have to be loud as f*-/k and fast. That's what I would've done anyway, not that you should have been doing this in the first place, because the Center Diffs on the WRXs will get damaged.

If you're going to abuse your car and pretend you're the Legendary Ken Block ... you better have Ken Block MONEY to PAY for REPAIRS. Subaru most likely won't cover your transmission.

Oh lord - read the post. Before you start with the whole 'Subaru has to prove'. 'Subaru is quick to call abuse..' rhetoric, we don't know if Subaru denied anything. OP came on here basically saying he beat the crap out of it in the snow and was asking if he brought it back to stock, would Subaru pay for it. Our replies related to that... And if you read his history, I think you'd be hard pressed to disagree. This crap is why Subaru questions these claims. And we all end up paying...
