stop it, you're making me horny...

i don't wave to other drivers. when i had my gti, some other vw owners waved and when i drove around my wife's fiat 500, other drivers waved. i actually let a co-worker drive the fiat and someone honked and waved. i told him i would slap his hand if he waved back.

nobody's tried to wave at me in my subaru yet. i did have someone in a chrysler 200 (read: the sebring name is SO bad, we couldn't re-use it even for this turd) rev his engine at me the other day. i suspect it was in anticipation of me revving back. his car sounded like it was having an asthma attack. made me throw up in my mouth a little bit...

I wave at Subarus. I do not wave at SubiYottas or Saabaurs.

It's a commercial, they're trying to sell cars, don't take it to heart.

It's just like most anything in life. Go around being nice and some people will be nice back, others will fling poo at you. You'll mostly get poo on NASIOC.

Nothin' but love here. Poo forum is over in OT.

I vote we bring things around full circle. When we see each other, let's use the old one finger salute. It'll toughen up the sensitive newbies and give 'em some much needed attitude instead of the bleeting sheep-ness we see so often now. I love surprising those I know and even those I don't know with a proper, loving "**** YOU!!!" Some of the newbies will be butthurt, but if they see the salute enough times, they'll get it and adopt it and the world will be a better place.

I never wave unless someone waves at me and i dont recall the manual saying i had to wave to other subaru drivers. On a side note, people are focus on driving or on their phone so you getting a wave isnt important.

Saw a silver 08-10 wrx up ahead of me. Got closer and an old man 80+ years old waved. I was shocked and waved back lol. Then saw him about 20 mins later on my way home and he waved again.

The one-finger wave doesn't count

BRZ looks like a Mazda....that's the first impression I got when I saw the front end. I guess people just need to get used to the look.

This reminds me of how motorcycles almost always wave at each other, but they rarely wave to scooters. I am afraid you have the scooter of the Subaru world.

But really I like the BRZ. I sat in one at the auto show, and it seems like it would be fun to drive.

As a WRX owner, I sometimes initiate a wave to other WRX owners since I figure that they like cars. I do not initiate a wave to every Subaru I see since I would guess that the average Subaru owner is not an automotive enthusiast.

You've got that quite wrong

A lot of cruiser riders don't wave to sportbike riders, and vice versa.

Also, a reason scooters don't get waved to (at least in my book) is because they're not actually riding a motorcycle? Most are 49cc scooters which don't even require a motorcycle license and most of their riders are either hipsters, morbidly obese, and/or complete idiots. I waved at one guy I've seen a few times on his scooter, he looked at me like "What is this idiot doing with his hand?" and kept riding the other way.

Because people see a BRZ and think its just a genesis coupe

I was going to mention how the Harley guys will rarely wave back to a sportbike rider. I always enjoy waving enthusiastically at a pack of Harleys trying to get one to wave back. Its like they can't because they want to be cool in front of their friends.

The whole waving thing is much bigger on motorcycles than I have ever noticed with cars. I think it is because you know a motorcycle rider is a motorcycle enthusiast. A car is like an appliance to the average driver.

Yup, I couldn't wave to every Subaru driver up here...they're everywhere. Hence why I only wave to the "performance" line up, better chances I figure

I personally wave to pretty much anybody on a motorcycle (scooters don't count). I will not wave to squids though...they annoy me (there's some idiot who wears like green boxers and flip flops everywhere he goes on his green Kawasaki, perfect definition of a squid). I get a love of returned waves, highest rate seems to be from ADV riders, I expect my waves from sportbike riders to drop when I stop riding my sportbike and switch to a KTM Duke...which is still technically a sportbike, but doesn't really resemble one.

Anywhooo, getting far too off topic here

One time my buddy was on his cheapo Tao Tao scooter messing around and at a light he gave this Harley guy a limp wrist floppy gay wave lol dude look so freaked out apparently

Join the club. I have a modified Legacy GT and probably have a 15% success rate when it comes to returned waves.

I've had about 2-3 waves this week from random people... Two WRX and one FXT. This is a lot more than usual. I had a bugeye wagon park next to me at the bar too... left a note and he added me as 'friends' on here.

There was a BRZ behind me today... I was very confused on whether or not a wave. Reason being, it's new and different... not the car, the waving. I've been waving to mainly any 'modified' WRXs for years now. It seems many unmodded ones have drives who don't know what they have many times and I just get blank stares back.
