That's better than my response rate when it came to online dating.

Perhaps it's more about what Subarus stand out among the road more so than the drivers who wave or not. The newer Subarus, in general, don't stand out on the road as much as the previous generations.

On a broader scale, pretty much everyone that owns a [insert car make/model you have an irrational hatred of] is a complete idiot.

Given that you own a '13, you're clearly part of the problem. You can't complain until 2016. If you'd have kept your STI you'd only have one more year to wait.

Sorry dude.
part of the problem? LOL. i've been on this forum and to meets before any of these cars were popular, before ****ing ken block, and when 300whp was considered big power

i might not have owned my subaru until 2010 but i've been around this forum trolling for a long long time before i joined. i see you have a 2011, that make you a problem too?

while i agree with you its all the young kids who have no respect that are ruining the community, having a newer subaru has nothing to do with it.

1. Maybe and most likely.. they didnt see you

2. Theyre having a bad day, maybe they are on the way to a nuerologist appointment like myself and have other things on their mind rather than waving at passer-bys

3. Who gives a crap

The only courtesies I extend to other drivers regardless of car and which I expect back from them is to drive safely and respect my wellbeing as I do theirs.

It's nothing personal, but all the WRX / STi folk secretly think that you're driving what's basically a RWD Honda Civic Si.

I'm joking. Don't freak out.

It's hilarious to me that I get flamed for laughing at Nasioc's enfatuation with cheap parts, but then, the masses here look "down" on the BRZ.

What, no turbo / AWD in the BRZ? That's so fail "bro-dawg." Damn, if it was turbo and AWD "I'd be all over it."

I'm sorry, but I can't stop laughing.

The wave to me was about having power, AWD, and handling in a economical package. The BRZ seats 2 comfortably and is RWD - its a toyota in my book...

BUt I would still wave if I ever saw one around here

Buy the Toyota variant. Then proceed to strip it down to a bare shell. Then I want you to see how many FHI logos you find on the parts. I've no idea myself but would be hilarious to find out.

While driving home from school the other day I must've seen about 10 newer WRXs/STis and i flashed highbeams and waved and no one waved back. I don't know if it's because I'm younger and drive a bugeye and they were older and drive newer cars, who knows lol.

I try to wave, but notice late sometimes. I agree with the earlier poster who said that later model Subarus blend in more with other cars and are harder to recognize until you're right on top of them.
And I have mistaken BRZ/FR-S for Scion TC's when they are drving by.
I also give evo's a thumbs up too, and get more return waves from them than other Subaru drivers.

I always wave at the WRX owners whenever I drive past them, whether they're on the opposite side of the road or next to me. It doesn't matter if it's a hot chick that's driving or some older guy, I always get a wave back or a flicker of the headlights or something to show appreciation . However, whenever I encounter the BRZ crowd and try to wave, they have this clueless look on their faces and they just drive off.

I'll be honest. There have been times where I don't notice until too late. Then I try to stick my hand out the window but, as my fingers touch the glass, it's already too late to try and roll it down.

If the dude who initiated the wave thinks I'm a douche for seemingly not acknowledging his existence, well... what can I really do right?

Next time I'll do an unsafe, illegal u-turn and chase the person down and explain.

That's funny. I get nothing from other subarus and even got ignored by an frs. I've had one sti honk at me as he drove by but besides that pretty much nothing. Most of the time I don't know if I should wave to another subaru first because I feel like most people think it's part subaru/toyota so it's not a real subaru...

Here's the real question: Which of you had more knock-off parts on your Subaru, you or him?

The latter is the poser, but if it's a tie... you both win.

If you don't have any knock-off parts, congratulations on being part of the "elite" few who live above the influence of knock-off parts.

I have none! Just STI splitters on my wagon. Hella horns in the pillarless grill with my OAKOS stickers and front plate delete and my cleared blackened headlights and my #171 Guinness World Record attempt sticker. Hmmm. Maybe I do loose. BUT HE DIDN'T WAVE!

I drive a 2012 WRX and rarely see other WRX's or the BRZ. All sorts of other Subara's though. I never wave but I do say out loud, "Feel the Love". My wife hates it when she's with me even though she's feeling the love in a 2011 Outback. I hope I catch her saying it sometime.

Too bad there wasn't a hand gesture for "Feel the Love".

I've pretty much given up on the Subaru wave. I drive a 2012 and Ive gotten mean mugs from newer wrx/sti's and older ones too. Most of the odd looks do come from the "younger crowd".

I do occasionally find a Suby owner who tosses a wave or a thumbs up, but they really are in the minority.
