About pulling a trailer

Hey guys, last summer I bought a new quad and an aluminium triton trailer. I don't have the dimensions on me but it's a tad bit wider than my 2003 wrx about 8 or feet long. Anyways, if I load just one quad or 2 sidebyside and balance it right so it's not putting a lot of pressure on the rear struts and not too far back to pull up, I seem to only get up to about 80 km/h comfortably. If I go the speed limit 100 on the highway it's fine but I have a bit of constant boost. I know with diesel trucks like my buddys with no load he has constant boost, I just want to make sure this is ok or will that blow the motor and or turbo? If not then I won't worry about it but any advise would be great, thanks.

PS there is no wobble or pulling.

Ok, from what I remember it was between 5 or so psi. It sure uses a hell of a lot more gas lol.

Bad choice for towing. The wheelbase is very short, which ain't good. Take it from me....I pulled my 1600 pound racecar on a 900pound open aluminum trailer with a Wrangler and it sucked. I went to a Yukon XL. Also, with the enclosed trailer, you are pulling a ton of air drag. You will wear your car out doing this.

Hauled over 2000 miles cumulative.

Popup is a Viking 1906 Epic model. 1503 lb tow weight empty. On the heaviest haul we probably packed ~500 lb of food, clothing, wood, beding, chairs, and supplies in the trailer and a family of four plus dog in the car.

You can start to haul just about any weight trailer with any car. The real question is: can you stop it? I run 2005 Legacy GT calipers and rotors and the H6 rear brake upgrade.

You have to mind the tongue weight. Too much and you can't steer or brake safely. For me that means packing the dense heavy stuff in the back of the trailer. I even disconnect the 45lb RV battery and pack it the back of the trailer to help.

Ummm this isn't enclosed, it's open no sides, the wheel base is the same width as the car.

Ok, found the dimensions, width is 6.6feet and 12.5 feet long, 8" tires.

Just stack an equal weight of the quad's and trailer on the front of the car / top of the car using lead bricks or bundles of rebar.

Balance FTW!

The way those quads are loaded I feel like that is still alot of drag.

Do you have trailer brakes?

You want ~10% of the trailer weight to be on the hitch. With brakes you have a 2,000# GVW allowance. You do not want the tail wagging the dog. It's no fun at all.

So constant boost for extended periods of time. Is the heat dissipation good enough to keep temps constant and within operating range? I would imagine the turbo will heat up after 30 min of constant boost. Def burn off any moisture in the oil system.

I guess I could hook up my tatrix cable and monitor levels that way to right? As long as it's all good then I won't worry.
