Redesigned Cadillac Cts To Debut In New York

Cadillac will introduce a redesigned version of its CTS sedan at next month's New York Auto Show. Cadillac's next-generation CTS will move up-scale to better compete with vehicle like the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

"It's just gorgeous," Bob Ferguson, vice president for global Cadillac, said of the new CTS in an interview with the Detroit Free Press. "We are positioning that car as a step up, so there will be a marketing challenge to reposition that car."



The all-new CTS, which is expected to ride on an elongated version of the ATS's Alpha platform, will arrive in dealer showrooms during the fall.

Credited with reviving Cadillac in the early 2000s, the launch of the third-generation CTS could prove to be just as critical as the introduction of the original. CTS sales slipped 14.6 percent to 46,979 units last year as buyers flocked to newer products like the ATS and XTS.

It remains unknown if Cadillac plans to eventually offer the new CTS as a coupe or wagon, but a V performance version is all but certain.

I guess someone got some spy pics of it, front looks nice but the back looks like a huge leap backward. It screams "elderly driver here, watch out!"

I don't really think it differs much from their core design language... which already screams that.

It sounds cliché but with Cadillac, if you've seen one, you've seen them all.
