Just picked up a 96 WRX STI V-limited 555 #253/555 now time for some mods. I just finished building an 800hp twin turbo 2008 dodge ram 6.7 cummins, now on to a new project. Don't know much about Subaru's, just that I've wanted one since I was a kid. No idea where to start and I wanna it built right, I have about 10 grand right now for this project. It would be 50% street 50% basically I want a quick rally car. something i can have fun with on the back roads then a beast on the street for the cruise nights around town.

Welcome!
I wish you lots of luck, 10K will actually get you pretty far, especially if you are handy with a wrench . A few suggestions : First you should probly do some extensive searching of this forum as a whole. There is a ton of great info here, and many other people who have already done what you wanna do, and or currently doing what you want to do, on NASIOC. search for these people/threads and spend some time familiarizing yourself with this community (you'll thank me for this if you take my advise) Secondly, after doing some extensive searching, reading, casual chatting.... you'll most likely find that you have a few more well informed and focused questions to ask, and youll wanna post these questions in the appropriate places here on NASIOC If you wanna get the most out of your sweet new 96 and your 10K, this is the best advise I have to offer. |

10k is a good amount for mods "IF YOU'RE DOING ALL THE LABOR BY YOURSELF" and if not then It won't get you far.
First: Research which route you want. Second: Research on how to DIY, so you don't have to pay for Labor on someone's auto shop. Third: Research and compare parts that you think will be a good mod. Fourth: Install. Fifth: Tune. |

This is the sort of response that is complete uncalled for, unproductive, mean, and serves as prove that you have no interest in genuinely helping those who are uninformed and in need of assistance . You are the kind of person that I hope gets a flat with out a cell phone and is passed by 1000 other drivers until a tow truck crosses your path and charges you 200 dollars for a lift back into town.
He is new and unaware and yes posted a naive statement but should not be chastised for it, at least he didn't post this in the built engine section! This place is about productive problem solving and web based friendship. Fuji production??? Why don't you fugi produce yourself some sympathy and respect, cause we were ALL there once |

Upgrade your intercooler to a JDM V3 top mount. Change your exhaust to a 3" DP with a 2.5" mid and rear pipe. With that you're approaching the limit of what your car can cope with before the ECU takes a dump. Possibly upgrade to a VF22/39 too. |

Like i said I have no idea where to start, Im a Diesel guy this is the first car I've owned and I wanted it ready for the summer, no idea what brands to go with or what. I'm a farm kid and have been working on diesels my whole life.
I will be doing all the wrench work other than computer stuff, just looking for a parts list don't care the cost I just want quality stuff, again i don't no tuner brands nor have the time to be sitting in front of a computer when i could be in the garage working on it. the only time I'm on the forums is when I'm at work as soon as i get home I'm in the garage working on my truck or something I just want to build it right with the right parts, cause I've heard if you don't I'm going to be looking at more headaches I just built a 800rwhp beast of a truck that will run hard all day without breaking a sweat I have built a truck with reliable hp from being on forums and asking guys what to do and I was looking to do the same with this. Ive talked to shops around my area that have beast sti's running around town, but because i do my own work and wont bring it to their shop they wont give me any info. |

So many options and routes to take. I would love to assist, but I think that I would be too biased, But good luck on your build, I hope some of the guru's here on Nasioc can lend you some of their knowledge.

Seeing no location in your profile, I'm closing this. Nobody can help if we don't even know what you're talking about.
