I can't even find a Golf-R in the country, are they all sold out? Also, is this going to be some exclusive car impossible to get when the 2014's arrive? I'm getting the impression these are pretty hard to get your hands on from a dealer. I'm interest though...

Where are you looking? I had been going to dealerships around Central Ma recently looking at a new GTI and saw a good amount of Golf R's. I know Patrick VW in Auburn still has one or two, so does Paul Clark VW, and Kelly VW.

Let me check those out, I was using the VW site, and it was showing none available. Though obviously I would want to check out the 2014 with the power increase, unless they heavily discount the 2013's.

I found two so far, one black and one red, the black one had a $3000 discount. But there is no way I would purchase a black or red car...lol Black is impossible to keep clean, and pull me over red is completely out of the question. I like the blue or the gray.

I actually like blue or black...I'm over the dark gray and can't stand candy white.

On the mk7 topic, I'm hoping some new spy shots soon, I need my fix.

Hmmm. One much faster than the other.

I wouldn't buy one in white. Probably blue or red.

I need to get a pair of needle nose pliers. It's perfectly wedged in there.

Put a drop of construction adhesive on the end of a wooden dowel rod. Press it onto the dime, wait 30 seconds, and then pull it out.

This, I was just going to suggest something similar. I need to do the same for the light outlet in the center console of my car. It's been that way since I moved down here.

Thats my only complaint with my GTI is that its two door. It was the last one left in Utah and I figure I dont plan on having kids in the next 3-5 years and I rarely carry passengers.

When I go to trade my car in (whenever that is) ill most likely end up with a 4 door GTI or R.

I'd be very interested in the 3dr S3 but we'll only get the sedan, and I wouldn't be surprised if a manual isn't offered.

Well that's why VW will be giving us the Golf R, which will be the same thing in disguise.

while that would be a shame, there are those who have driven both that said the DSG in the R is a better choice. I would have to try it out. If the LGT and STI are let downs, then perhaps I may have to buy a DSG R. Several times this year, it would have been very convenient to swap cars with my wife and she does not want to drive a manual any more.

I'm hoping for a manual option, but if DSG is the only option I would rather drive a sedan STI. I don't think that they will only do DSG they've learned from that mistake, it's going to be either both or manual only again.

That would make me happy. But we will see. So many great choices in our future. What a great time to be in the market.

If its DSG only, it will be off my list.
