Default GrimmSpeed Divorced WG Downpipe

After months of anticipation, GrimmSpeed finally released their divorced wastegate catless downpipe. As soon as I found out they were doing so I knew I had to have one for my new to me 06 WRX. I have used countless other products form GrimmSpeed and have always been impressed with the quality and engineering that goes into their products. It is getting harder and harder to find good quality U.S made products but, Grimmspeed is doing just that. Their customer service has always been second to none which made my decision an easy one to make. It arrived in the mail about 2-3 weeks ago and I put it on the same day. Below are some pictures I took of it right out of the box. The pictures they have online show a great piece but, you can’t truly get a feel for the quality until you see it in person. The flanges are beefy and thick and all the welds are flawless. You also notice the separator plate that is perfectly built to allow for maximum flow an efficiency. One of the things I also like is it has more of a raw race pipe finish to it unlike most of the chrome finish pipes you see from eBay

Installation

After I removed my factory downpipe I was ready to put the GS one on. Since I was mating the downpipe to my factory catback I am also using one of the GrimmSpeed adapters. The new downpipe went into place as if it were oem, all the holes aligned perfectly as well as the tap that mounts to the transmission. The ease of putting on the GS downpipe made up for the pain of removing the factory one.

I have been running the downpipe for just over 3 weeks on my 06 wrx which is also my daily commuter and I have nothing but good things to say about the DP. Is this the only DP on the market….no but, with the quality and customer service that comes with buying a GrimmSpeed part it is the only one I would recommend or buy.

I will update this post with some good Installed pics soon

So much money for a catless downpipe...but it really looks good and i know like everything grimmspeed offers that this is worth the money just in the R&D alone. That being said, I just bought one from RSD, can't wait!!! I will also put up some pics and reviews once its in.

Question on installation, i also ordered this DP just hasnt arrived yet but i want to think ahead.

I am going to be installing this DP to connect to a perrin catback exhaust, does anyone know if it"ll be a direct bolt on or may i need something extra like maybe another hanger or etc? (03 wrx)

I believe you should just be able to bolt it up. does the Perrin exhaust you have now use the doughnut gasket?

That's a beatiful looking piece. If I wasn't running their ewg setup, I'd be all over this DP. That and the fact that they stand behind their products 100% makes a no-brainer to buy their stuff.

If the cat back exhaust really does use a doughnut gasket for connection then you need to buy grimmspeed's down pipe gasket adapter bracket. I have one on my exhaust since I had the exact situation. Works perfect. Just make sure to order the 2 bolt exhaust gasket and a new doughnut gasket so it's leak free on both sides. Probably like $65-75 depending on shipping.
