I remember he kept patting the guys helmet. and thinking, boy thats just like it was when mansell gave senna the ride back.

and now imagine my shock when webber hitches a ride with alonso, and boom penalty. i thought this just ocurred not too long ago.
Alonso got a ride from Webber earlier this year.

I recall an instance where McLaren did 3 sets of out-hot-hot-in, instead of 4 sets of out-hot-in. It didn't work out for them.

way to go FIA

i understand its his third reprimand and rules are rules blah blah blah. And we cant have drivers doing this all the time cuz some cucumber will end up dropping them. I can imagine someone like VDG dropping someone off his caterham haha.

Jesus Christ. They got separate reprimands because both things they did were dangerous. If Fernando had stopped in the runoff area to pick up Mark there would have been no problem. The problem was Mark ran onto a hot track and Fernando stopped in a blind spot in the middle of a corner in the middle of the track forcing cars to jump to either side of him.

Agreed.

And what does it matter? (Although that is besides the point) Webber is out of the hunt and RBR has the CC title all but locked up.

People just want to rage about something.

**** Bernie! **** the FIA! They ruin everything! Cars should have absolutely zero technical regulations, they should be able to refuel and use any tires they want! 'The man' is ruining my sport!

uhh, thats not what im doing, youve gone full potato misdirected at some noobs in this thread who are not me.

i didnt like the penalty because a) mean spirited; b) i recall this happening before and the FIA gave no penalty - seems like a pretty reasonable criticism.

i also acknowledged it was unsafe. Way to go.

The very essence of Formula 1 is to push the mechanical limits of the car. As light as possible, with as much power as possible, that can take the corners the best. The winners are the teams that put the best engineers and designers together. If you want exciting wrecks and competition of equal cars, watch nascar, one engine and body cloned into 42 cars with different paint schemes. Formula one is true engineering at its finest. these teams design and build their cars to their interpretation of the FIA's rules. Every car is different, and that's what makes it amazing.

I said "people", not "he". It covers all the donkeys whining in comments sections all over the internet. It's basically like YahooNews comments level of stupidity at this point. The actual full potatoes are those who think they got reprimands for the lift itself rather than how it was done.

And if you acknowledge it was unsafe, then you should have a pretty good understanding of why they got reprimands, as safety is the basis of both of them and the video evidence is clear as day.

My butthole puckering at him climbing on from the left (see also; track) side of the car rather than the right side, tends to agree.

I said i didnt like it. I still dont. Even funnier is Webbo's twitter, I am gonna miss that guy. Calling out Warwick, classic.

I agree it shouldnt be repeated - hell its the rare nature of such a ride that makes it so awesome to see. Furthermore, its the fact that Webbo disregarded the chance of getting a penalty that makes it even more special. I still dont like the penalty. But it makes sense. Again, as i said, cant have the cucumbers at the back trying this to be cool.

This is why they don't like ppl crossing a hot track:

I think the stewards would have been a little more lenient had Alonso pulled OFF the track to let Mark hop on.

Yeah that is a terrible video to watch! But that also was during the race! Not during a cool-down lap. I understand why they got the penalty, but 10-places is way to harsh! Should of just been another warning really. Even though there is a rule saying 3 warnings equals a grid penalty

I guess it would have been ok then if Mark had been hit during a cool down lap. Then we could all have a good laugh about it like Taki Inoue.

I'm with you, there was a period of time where quali was a finite number of laps (including in/out laps). Around 2000 they changed qauli multiple times, some significant changes were made mid season.

But I'm old, maybe my memory is making it all up.

They did have 12 laps to qualy.

What I disagreed with was this:

No, they did not "race" all 12 laps. Actually, they didn't "race" any laps as it was all qualifying...
