Default Tansui's 2011 SSM WRX Sedan

As I mentioned in another thread, I traded my 2009 OBP WRX Sedan for a new 2011 SSM WRX Sedan. this morning I clay-bared, sealed, and polished it, then I snapped some pictures this evening.

I know my photogrophy skills are sorly lacking maybe some of you will give me some tips.

I've babied it so far only 460 miles on it atm... it's stiffer for sure way less body roll. It feels much more predictable. I had Firehawk Oval Indy 500s on the '09 and it need them! The stock Dunlap's on the '11 feel sufficient.

First tip... don't take a picture with your own shadow in it.
Second tip... take pictures of the whole car most of the time.
Third tip... no silly angles that make me twist my head to see it.

Fourth... nice purchase.

P.S. read this. It really helps. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1263892

Thanks for the tips but silly angles is what I do best so... I'm thinking tough fruit cake on that one.

I thought about the hatch, but I really liked my 09 (issues aside) so I figured why mess with a good thing. Even though I think they 5 door looks better from behind the LED style lights and all.

Well the car is coming along... slowly but surely AP stage 1, supertones, shift knob, and rain guards all installed. My license plate bracket is on order and yesterday took a few new pics with the shadows however the horns are near invisible.

after the license plate bracket is on i think ill be looking into a lip spoiler and side skirts .

Get some tint on that bad boy! btw I dont know if they allow it in your state but if you get a "brow" on your front windshield it really helps for sunny days. It also would not hurt to get some upgraded swaybars if you wanted even less body roll

Yeah tint and swaybars are on the list with a bunch of other stuff im only about to turn 2600 miles. After the lip spoiler and side skirts ill probably throw on some Rallyarmor mud flaps then exhaust, springs/coilovers, DBA breaks, and eventually some Enkei NT03-M's (in hyper black), and somewhere down with sways is Cobb SF intake and Grimmspeed BCS along with a email tune from torquedperformance.

Yeah when I was looking for my first WRX I was just focused on getting an '09 or '10 for the 265hp... and I knew they were making the STi a sedan but I didn't know the '11 non-STi would also get the wide body treatment until I had been driving the '09 for a few months. So when my '09 started giving me worries I jumped on the chance for an '11.

Installed the JDM license plate bracket last night I think it looks good but it's not a lot different than the home depot one I made for my '09

Installed my exhaust last Sunday and thought I would give a review

Exhaust: Tsudo catback exhaust for 2008-10 WRX sedan
Purchased from: EZR

Kit came with a full set of gaskets and bolts but you have to reuse the sprung bolts that connect the stock mid pipe to the stock down pipe.

1st off the guys at EZR were easy to deal with I called them right after I placed my order and they got it shipped out the next day. They sent it FedEx with tracking info, and mind you this is the 'free shipping' they offer with larger purchases.

The shipping weight was 38 lbs so it saves a good amount of weight over the stock pieces. Each of the 4 stainless steel sections was tightly bubble wrapped and both mufflers arrived undamaged.

Installation was pretty straight forward, once the stock pieces are off. (The mid pipe hanger is a pain with no WD40.)

When installing the kit put the back half of the mid pipe on 1st and save yourself some headache. Next put on the mufflers... the hangers that are welded to the passenger side muffler were too long to fit the muffler on without removing the rubber piece to slide it on the muffler and the car at the same time. (sorry no pic of that)

Use a jack stand to hold the other end of the mid pipe in place while you bolt up the front section. Also best to use vice grips to hold the mid pipe firm to the down pipe so you can tighten those sprung screws.

The flanges are a little off but they seal well and the pipes match up so the only down side ascetic.

Over all it looks good (not as good as a quad burnt tip q300) and sounds great!

The one video on youtube does the sound of this kit no justice! I'll make a video soon. I also thought the dual tips would look funny with the back bumper molded to accommodate a quad tips but I think it looks better than most quad tip set ups (magnaflow and SPT anyway). I'll also shoot some more pics when I get a chance.
