Default Any info about this 2003 Legacy for sale? (Few oddities)

http://www.rinesautosales.com/wp_car...ru-legacy-awd/

Found it sort of locally (ive test drove a few cars there but its about 40 minutes away). The first thing that struck me as odd was the tail lights. I noticed the center light was painted over/vinyl stickered. Then I picked out the slight wing and couple badges on the fenders/rear tail light piece that ive never seen before.

Any info or insight? I assumed it was all just some kid modifying his car (which would immediately make me hesitant) but i figured i would just ask the experts.

Its a L model. It looks like either an ebay lip spoiler, or they did have aftermarket spoilers like that in Japan.

I think it may have just been some superficial mods. I'm not sure if the L model came with the snowflake wheels (they did on the GT for sure). Yeah, there's some vinyl or something over the center light bar. But there's no lights in there really so it's not a big deal. It even looks kind of good.

Personally I think the car looks fairly clean for 123k miles. Minus the rust spot on the drivers rear wheel arch. I like the 2002+ models because they have dual cup holders in the center.

We actually had an '01 Legacy GT (we paid $3k for it in 2008, had 210k miles) so i always look at ones like these like they're so high priced. Haha. Ours lasted til 254k miles and thats when my sister stupidly sold it because it needed a sway bar and one tire had a constant leak -_- Ran and looked like goddamn new. She sold it for $300.

One thing i noticed was they took out that sweet cupholder in the dash, i loved that. Either way, this is for my girlfriend. Shes trying to get out of her '03 Outlander and into something... uh... good. I didnt know if this one was just modified by some kid or if those were factory options (i didnt think they were). I was there test driving the Ranger he has and as we were leaving i noticed that pull in and go up to the garage door. I didnt know if they just got it in or if it was just a customer. Should have turned around and checked, would save us another trip this week.

From my recollection for 03 & 04 there was a "special edition" L that had the snow flakes and a sunroof. A buddy of mine bought one new. The standard L had stealies and no sunroof.

Looks OK.

I would check www.KBB.com for that car to see the price range (sold from dealer) to see if it's in line.

FIX the rust ASAP if you get it. It can get bad FAST.

Look to see if recent "wrench work" was done removing mods.

Maybe even do a CarFax on the VIN.

Went to look at it. Was fairly clean but the engine had a noticable knock/tap. Moving on, for the price I said to flat out pass on it.

The badges said XSI for those wondering. No idea where he got those from.
