Default Transmission shop in the st pete/tampa area

Looking for a place to swap a bellhousing(mine is cracked) on my six speed. Anybody know a place that can do that in this area?

How did you crack it? I wouldn't trust anyone but Mastro or Reeves to be honest.

Thought I had the spline aligned but didn't and when I torqued it down...whammy. First place I called was mastro and they said they had never done one. Which is odd because I know this isn't that atypical.

All sons trans on mlk might be worth checking out. I didn't have Trans work done there but they helped me pop some studs out of my top hat after they had closed for the day. For free and didn't complain at all...they have a 150 coupon on their Web site for major work. The people working there seemed nice enough.

Otherwise I'd call SOS automotive on waters ave in Tampa and see who they recommend. I have all of my car work done there. And they've always been trust worthy...more than i can say for dealerships.

We're in Orlando but we can do it if you don't trust any place over there

Oh yeah. Should have taken the motor out and aligned the trans with it and then dropped it in. That six speed is no joke weight wise.

I've never had a problem doing everything from underneath. I actually prefer to do it that way. It's a bit more difficult if you don't have a lift, but it can be done. Who did you talk to at Mastro? Manny is the service guy I always talk to and he gets me taken care of. Well both him and Ray are good guys.
