Default Help Classing my car for SCCA AutoX (solo)

I posted this in the VMSC forum, but didn't get a response yet. I thought this might be a better place.

I am a RallyXer, so I am used to 3 possible classes, and confused by the autox classes. haha

I have a 2002 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS (non turbo)
It has a:
-larger rear sway bar (from a WRX)
-full Headers back exhaust.
-pod Air filter

Thanks in advance!

Headers take you out of stock. I haven't looked at the Street Touring rules in a while, so I'm not positive if they are legal in ST*. I know the car would be in DSP if you have R-comp tires.

When you only have 3 mods to check, how hard can it be to look at the rule book and figure out the class? haha

There are plenty of "cheat sheets" online if the rule book is too hard. haha Try this one from SCCA. haha

Yes, well I have done some research, it just seems like I could be in two or maybe even 3 different classes. I think I could be in ST, STX, or Street Prepared, which I think would be DSP?

ST says "Headers emissions compliant" (which I am)
STX says "High Flow Cat" (which I have)
Street Prepared says "Exhaust Manifolds are free"

Unless someone builds a car specifically to run in 1 class, it's common to have a car that fits in more than 1 class. You could also run Street Modified, so make it 4 classes.

Of course, you would be horribly out-classed in SM and DSP since the competitive cars will have more modifications and will be on R-compounds. But you could run in those classes if you wanted to.

Silly me linked an undated "cheat sheet", which is out of date and doesn't reflect that SCCA changed their Street Touring class naming yet again, just to keep everyone on their toes. So the old ST is now STF or STC or maybe even STS. You would fall into STC (Sedans & Coupes NOC (non sports-car-based; 4-seat minimum; up to 3.1L normally-aspirated)).

K, what a mess lol. So, would I be most competitive in STC?

Are you running a stock radio? If it has an iPod connector you'll be dsp for sure...
Kidding! I'm hoping to run some autoX this season too, hopefully I'll see you at an event chris!

Are you new to autocross? If so, don't worry about classing. It sounds like you'd be in STC, but I'm not 100% certain. Just run STC and talk to the other competitors about where you should really be.
