Yes +38 is fine. That's only about 3/8" difference.

Speaking of +38, I really want to get some of those 18" BBS RC's.. Mmm.

Instead of ordering the 17x7 steelies I was originally planning on getting, I'm considering getting a set locally of the 5-spoke 17x7 Legacy GT wheels and painting them low-gloss black. Thoughts?

Essentially. But also as a carryover until I can get my 18's. I traded my stock Sports for the Rota's. And now the Rota's are going to Ryan at Moore in trade for their axleback. I have a set of Continental 215/45 snows, just need the rimz.

sleet forcast for tomorrow, tempting to put on my winter wheels and take a pic, but then again I don't really want to put them on yet.

I need to put my snows on this week regardless. My current tires are beyond bad. If these were on a FWD car, I wouldn't be able to turn. lol

Are the LGT rims in good shape? I think those would look pretty cool

They're not bad. Minor blemishes on the spokes, but that'd be masked after the respray.

Just ordered these in 15" with Michelin X-Ice Xi3 tires for the winter. I'll post pics when I get them on.

Drag DR-34's 40mm offset, 14.25lbs

I just can't see putting anything less than 17's on this car. I was contemplating some of those BBS 16's from the 00-style Jetta (the two piece ones) for snows, but I just can't go under 17..

Idk, I have 15's and I don't mind the look of it for winter. When I need new snow tires I'm going to replace them with some chunky general grabber at2's

The reason I went for 15" is so I could get thinner, taller tires which translates into better snow/ice traction. I'm sure they won't look as cool as a 17" or 18" rim, but I'm more concerned about safer winter driving than looks.

my 16" rims should look great in winter, plus they have more sidewall than 17" so should offer a better ride and protection

Conpletely understand.

However.

Last year, I knew I was getting rid of my 11 Si for my Impreza, so I didn't bother keeping my winter set. I ran my 18" Volks in the winter with Goodyear GT all seasons. Here in Pittsburgh, we get snow, but lots of ice. As long as you don't drive like an idiot, you're fine. Obviously your climate may vary.

I have snow tires for my Subaru, but mainly because I got them for a great deal. They're 17's, and so the 17x7 steelies are coming in.

So I finally got my Enkei wheels in the mail and here's how they look mounted.

ENKEI - EKM3 GUN METAL 17x7 WHEELS sitting on:
MILESTAR - MS932 SPORT 205/50R17 (These tires rule! Cheap/quiet/sleek/traction)

I just installed Enkei EKM3 as pictured above and I did not use the Hub center rings that came with my wheels. Iv'e found them to be unnecessary, at least for these rims.

For me especially it is bothering. I'm already on my winter setup & I put my 4 season on April. I don't feel like riding a car that I bought on bad looking steelies for half a year every single year that I will own this car.

I had my motegi for summer as shown on the pic below & I chose to ride my 15 Spoke 17 oem for winter as they are build more solid for winter.

For next summer, I before mounting the 4 season setup, I plan to paint those motegi mr119 white & replace those cheap jobber bolt with black one.

Summer setup, probably change to white painted motegi next year

Winter setup(photo with oem tire, but run Michelin X Ice xi2 for winter)

1 season done with the Xi2 & the rubber is at 10/32. They seem to work as advertised.

Well I don't have steelies lol. I have 15 inch alloys that work fantastic with my Continental Extreme winter contacts in snow. I guess I am more concerned with the functionality then the look of the rims.

Currently on Tire Rack. Need to get this wheel situation done today so I can get my snows on. Crappy tread is one thing in the summer. But we have snow in the forecast this week. lol
