Default Failed Inspection - Cobb catted DP (Nashua)

Hi Guys,

Have same setup for years and going to same shop for years and this time they decided to faily my cobb catted dp stating "no factory equivalent catalytic converter".

So, I have plenty of exhaust moded subies all around me here in Nashua - where are you getting your sticker?

Thanks!

You're in the system as a "FAIL" now, so any other shop will see that. They might not want to risk giving you a sticker because if they get caught, they're screwed.

Uh oh, I thought the system that keeps your record for failure was emissions only - didn't know visual inspections were recorded too.

Loyale93, I'm guessing the link was for secretcy fyi? I'll gladly take a PM of a "lenient" shop.

Last year I was stupid and used a discount coupon from the newspaper to get an inspection done at a local Chevy dealer. They failed my wagon for tint, but of course still charged me. I then went to a place that I know wouldn't care about the tint. The guy was about to give me a sticker when he looked at the computer and said, "Why didn't you tell me you already went somewhere else first? Why did they fail you?" I told him it was because of the tint and he said, "Never even noticed that. Well, I can't give you a sticker now unless you remove the tint on the rear window." So my "discount" inspection ended up costing me $18 (fail) + $35 (pass) + $100 (tint replacement).

So they can see you failed not what you failed for? I failed two items - other one was an endlink which I'll be upgrading those now too.

Fell for Crest's same gimmick last year, luckily I was only out $55 including a new inspection.

Yeah, those bastards make a killing off those coupons. They just fail people for absolutely anything they can find and collect money without giving out stickers.

Where did you go in Nashua? I'd like to avoid them.

Damn that freaking sucks. Must have been a new tech that knew what to look for.

This is why I went with a Shorty DP and my OEM 3rd cat.
