I'm a nice guy too and all being nice has done for me is **** me sideways lol I'm not nice anymore that's for sure haha

And who do you think pays the body shop?

If the insurance company doesnt authorize the repairs you think the body shop will do it out of the goodness of their hearts? Lol

All I'm saying is dont give up so easily on it...the body shop shoulr be able to match the paint if they are good or at least come close....yours is bad and should be fixed....I guess, like you said, you wait and see if it marinates or whatever they called it haha and if it doesn't change get them to go at it again.....

Intersting that your insurance would not blend a panel.

So if a front fender was replaced, they would not blend the adjacent door and hood?

Seems like you would not have your car returned to pre-loss conditoins than. No two cars from the factory have the same shades of paint... how could they expect a painter to match it based on 3rd party's formulation (PPG etc...)?

New insurance time?

Same thing happened to me man.

They "blended" my bumper, driver side fender, driver door. Came out like crap and had to paint the entire driver side to get it right.

Yea he said its a picky color and he hates white pearl cars cuz this is wat happens...the paint does match the hood and trunk but the bumper jus killed it so he said let this paint age a few months till it gets warmer then he will blend the bumpers and spray the sude skirt

Seems like you're justifying the poor quality of work. Whether you're waiting for the paint to blend or going to wrap in the future. I would have had a fit and bitched to my insurance company to make it right.

Its not that im justifying it..there is more important things right now like my injurys and medical bills/treatment from this accident so its the least of my worrys at this moment it just bugs me that they didnt go with a between spray out cuz like i said the hood and trunk matches great but the bumpers and side skirts on this side are killin me but right now got important things this can be fixed just hate that it wasnt done to begin with

This is not a repair, this is a joke. I had my share of cars repainted, white, silver, graphite. Never ever had I seen **** like that. Insurance paid for painting but not blending ???it's total nonsense. It's essential part of repair service, it's not a frickin luxury option that you should opt for. Not sure what insurance you have but between them and this joke of a shop you go screwed dude. It will dirty up ha???? interesting theory. I would look for legal advise. Depreciation on this car will be huge. I would never buy a car that was painted by bunch of drunk monkeys. FYI my friends 06 outback comes in this pearl white also and it was repainted 3 years ago. It looked perfect right away and still does, you would never tell it was hacked.

I understand but the longer you wait, the harder it'll be to get the right people to rectify this.

DO not let down on this. The whole point of the insurance money is to get this thing healed back up to as new as can be. When you try and sell this thing or trade it, its going to screw the value of the car massively. You may be ok with it, and if you are keeping it forever then whatever.

But if you think you will sell the car ever, get it replaced. They need to repaint that now. You need to hit up your insurance and that company until it gets resolved. Its WAY off.

Hell, hit up the BBB if needs be.

I know you have other things to deal with, but phone calls can be made from just about anywhere.

I've had ****ty paint work done previously, hard color to match or not it can be done by someone that wants to do it.

Don't let it go. It won't 'dirty up', thats completely ridiculous. Your car wasn't 'dirtied up' when you bought, it had fresh paint on it.

There is a pearl in the paint, which gives it that yellow look.

From factory, my valance over my license plate/rear tow hook spot didn't match (was about the color of your messed up parts) and the paint shop ended up re-doing it on their own accord because they didn't get it to match.

It should be fixed. A service was paid for and they neglected to fix it properly. Imagine if you paid a mechanic to fix your brakes, and they put the pads in backwards? Same kind of situation here, just with body work.

Go to your insurance company and tell them what a piss poor job was done. You pay them enough a month, they should help you out (mine has in an animal collision situation where the exact same thing you're dealing with happened)

this is a command white car problem..but your paint mixture is WAY OFF!!

I always said if 1/3 or 1/2 the car is fuk up with paint, I'll respray the whole car to alpine white and not keep SWP. since is pearl, is really hard for a shop to blend/match it up and if they don't do a white base/primer on bumpers/plastic parts is almost 100% it come out way off!!

Since the other person was at fault, and you have injuries from the accident, can I assume you have a lawyer representing you? If yes, I would civilly sue the person that hit you for the loss of value in the vehicle. Not only does that paint job look like crap, there is now a record of it when you carfax. That takes value away.

Call back the insurance adjuster and send them these pictures. Also, just because the damage was fixed does not mean it is "back to new condition." Even the dealership has no problem warning you as soon as you drive the car off the lot, it is a used car.

I would contest this to no end, especially if it is not your fault.

Not hijacking, just adding to the thread. My thread showing my rear bumper damage on my SWP. merge if necessary.

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2466567

I go in to Subaru to get it fixed tomorrow...fingers crossed.

I'll post after pics when I get them. I'm thinking if it's doesn;t look good, I may have a better chance of complaining going through a large comapny like SOA. We will see..

My guess is no. This would help a bunch. I would be shocked though becuase this is body shop repair 101.

If you are not at fault, like the OP (someone hit you). Then in most no-fault states, the other person's insurance MUST make you whole again. If they choose to only pay to paint a panel and you are not satisfied with the work or outcome, you can force them to redo it and blend it, etc, etc. They don't get a choice on how ****ty they want to fix your car.

Now if your insurance company is covering you, well that's another story.
