Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yep, just bought it Saturday night. He did a pretty good job painting it.

But anyway, looking forward to meeting you guys in person! I'll make sure to check back here so I don't miss any more cruises and such.

Welcome! I'm new as well. Everyone's pretty cool here. Come to granny's cruise and introduce yourself this coming Saturday! There should be a thread for that...

OK, so, here's the deal. From a former APD officer now Federal LEO.

APD can do exactly what they did. If a business complained to APD that they don't want people there, you get a trespass warning. The business, owner or proprietor can give APD the authority to tell you to leave. APDs word is it and they have to prove nothing to you. If you've been warned and they catch you after that, you are trespassing and can be arrested for, you got it, trespassing. To be specific - AS 11.46.330. Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

He said that area is a high crime area (as you know) and businesses have long complained about loiterers. If you're not patronizing a business, they don't want you there. If you're there even behaving like angels, you're guilty my association thanks the asshats that drag race, do burn outs and donuts all over the place and a few that cause property damage.

He did say that APD is severely short-staffed and he recommends heading to an area that is not considered to be crime-ridden reducing the likelihood of APD driving by and busting people. Once there, behave like angels. If someone tells you to leave and not return, it's just like APD warning you. The owner, business or proprietor need only say it once. If you return, you could be arrested for trespassing. It's sucks but it is what it is and you can thanks those asshats.

I'd say keep doing what you doing and try places and see how it goes. Talk to owners/businesses during regular hours. Let them know who you are and what you hope to do. Put a face to the name. Show them your not thugs and bums. Explain that your presence could offer a deterrence to those with ill intent.

Have you tried the Carrs at N. Lights and Minnesota? Maybe worth it. They're open 24 hours and a deterrence presence may be of interest to them. Maybe the same for other places. The City Diner parking lot? The possibilities could be endless.

We had spoken about that on AMA. Sounded like a good idea, but the parks nearby clearly state we are not allowed on the premises after hours.

After the impressive turnout last Saturday night at tikahatnu. It seems most of us will be meeting there from now on. We do cruise to PHOnatik and go our separate ways from there. Depending if you live on the south or east/north side, though... There's usually people at phonatik first. Thanks a bunch Bj! Really appreciate the information.

You're welcome!

You mentioned Tikhatnu.

He did say that movie theaters tend to be a hot spot. I know that the rental security patrols there too, so Tikhatnu may not last long for you. But go until you're told to leave.

He said there are regular issues with people hanging out and waiting for someone to come out of the theater and pummel them.

Again, thank the asshats of Anchorage.

Go talk to a store manager. You may be surprised with the answer.

I remember back in day we used to post up at barnes and noble and before that the northern lights billiards when it was in the same complex as KFC. Then somehow it shifted to tesoro on northern lights back in 05 or 06. I guess cops kept giving us **** so the spot to go too kept changing and I remember back then I mentioned it to go to the south side and it eventually did.

I remember back in 01 we posted up at West behind the swimming pool area and had like 250 plus cars there was pretty epic as it was totally hidden when you would drive by.

Coming back from seward saturday night , there was a large gathering of cars down at beluga point I think, it was at the large turn off just south of Mchugh creek. We keep having to go much farther south to avoid being ran off by the police we may as well go to portage.
Of course if the knuckleheads that somehow were given drivers licenses would stop screwing it up for the rest of us then we wouldn't need to keep finding other places to go
