Nice pond man, those are some good sized koi! Have you gotten any to breed?

You guys know those little African Dwarf frogs? Apparently adult Bichirs love to eat them. I don't think I'll be putting those on the menu though.

Thanks. Most of them are 10-13 years old .We have a red eared slider that comes inside in the winter and goes outside when its warm. We have had him for about 9 years his name is raphael.lol To be honest yes they probably have but they just can't make it with the bluegill and other fish.

No sir. We do try to prevent it from freezing tho. They go into serious slow mode in the winter. We have had a blue heron get one or two big goldfish but no koi. Our oldest koi died last year he was a huge orange butterfly koi.

Depending on the size of pond and how many fish. We need to clean out our filters once a month. And the uv light gets a lot of algae otherwise it turns green really fast.

Ours is about 1500 + gallons and we try to vacuum the bottom a once month. Tomorrow I'll take a picture of our filter system.

That's hilarious.

I'm trying to decide a solution for my slight algae problem. I don't want snails or a common pleco and Siamese algae eaters cost way too much to order. It's not bad, but its frustrating. I still want to buy my adult bichirs too

She looks cool. I'm sure the other one is happy he's getting a mate lol. How big is she compared to the male? She looks big but that might be the photo playing tricks on me.

She has about a 6-7" disk to the males 5"ish. It

Hes going to be stoked. She's flawless too, I can't wait to see the pups.

I got some siamese algae eaters too. Not super stoked about that, but hopefully they work on the algae a bit. I guess they are pretty useless as adults.

Man I love this thread. I REALLY need help with my salt tank. I think it's too small, or I don't have the right equipment or some crap.

I have a small 30 Gallon with 2 clowns that are about 6 yrs old. They seem to be getting a little stressed out because I am having issues with the water.

Should I step the size up? I'm running a small carbon filter, and back of tank skimmer. Always wanted to go bigger with a smaller tank to hold all the life support crap.

Did I mention the dang tank is pretty ugly too? I am in MoCo and haven't found a decent brick and mortar spot for supplies that I can walk in, ask questions, and walk out confident I know what I am doing.

Well, I'd recommend a larger tank for sure. Bigger tanks are, surprisingly, easier to take care of.
