And you guys wonder why I don't know what to do. You two should arm wrestle. Whoever wins, that will be the path I take.

You already said you didn't feel like taking his advice, I gave you the other, more expensive, option. I still agree with him but you said you didn't want to tune.

If you can't figure out what the answer is (which has been posted a whole bunch of times in this thread) then you NEED to do more research. Research until you're SURE of what you need to do.

There is nothing more anyone on here can do for you. You haven't even taken the 30 seconds you would need to fill out your damn profile.

A lot of people look through random topics like this one. If you happen to provide the type of car you have and your location the chances of getting helped tailored to your would be higher.

(i.e. if someone knew what part of the country you were in someone could recommend a local tuner that could help you with ALL of your questions.)

A GOOD street tune should run you around $200, and they can turn that code off for you. In addition, they will give you a "health check" and on top of that, the car will run better, safer, and is quite a different machine with said setup.
Good luck!

Someone said do X, and then someone else said X wasn't a good idea. Then someone said buy Y and I said buy Y for what year because Y seems to have its own variables depending on model year. Now its just Fill out Z Fill out Z Fill out Z.

So, I filled out Z.

Also, Many PM's out. Every recent part out has no DP available. PMP Parts or whoever (seems like a salvage business) says it is illegal to sell me a used OEM DP.

I have two threads open in the classifieds. No replies yet. People already want to buy my brothers aftermarket DP. The vultures are already circling.

So, where is the tuner in NEW YORK or who has parts for the 2004 WRX

And also, did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was rad.

oem dp pipes are hard to find. Chin up. It will come through. You could possibly ask the tuner (when you find him/her) to do two tunes since it wont be that much extra work. One tune for awesome open no cat dp and one for OEM downpipe.

I now have a bid on one on ebay. Price is right at the moment. I talked to my z06 tuner and he says he may know someone up the road who specializes in foreign cars. I am going to talk to him and see if he knows about this type of issue.

I also have a thread started in the Tri State regional forum to see if anyone has cables and can tune or knows someone or a shop that can tune.

Making progress!

That is about the going rate in the Midwest for a good reliable dyno tune. Find the reliable shops in your area and send out multiple quotes. Then you will see if it is pricy or not.

What I say really doesn't matter since prices vary by shop and region.

We can't tell you if it is pricey, or even how good of a job they will do. I can tell you that is more of a question for your REGIONAL forum since they will have more knowledge of that tuner, their work, and local prices.

I've done everything they ask dude. I have a profile, I have posted in for sale sections, regional sections, I have bid on ebay, I have called local shops, I have combed craig's list. I even hit up two junk yards. You know it is illegal to sell a used catalytic converter? Don't go looking to buy one.

I do not feel bad. This is a Newb Section. I'm newbing the crap out of it. Deal with it. Say something f'n constructive. Tell me how much you paid for a tune.

Yet PLENTY of people do what you are trying to do each day, and here you are weeks later. There is honestly nothing else we can say to get you to do what needs to happen, nothing.

In the midst of doing exactly it and I ask for a price check. What forum rule is that against?
