Default FPR & Manifold port have no barbs?

I was replacing a lot of the vacuum lines on my 02 and thought of replacing the line between the manifold and FPR. I noticed they don't have barbs but are straight. Doesn't it seem pretty dangerous for such a critical piece of equipment?

I even put on small clamps o that vacuum line which didn't make any difference in how easy it was to pull off the hose. Does that vacuum hose just not come off of these or what?

Thanks
