Default Advice on buying high mileage Legacy GT

Hello,

I'm looking for some opinions on buying a high milage Legacy GT. I found an 05 with 156xxx. Paint looks decent and interior looks nice. Price is $7000. I think timing belt has been done before 100xxx. I will confirm that. Just wanted to get some opinions.

Thanks

Timing belt is very important and next to impossible to tell if it's new after 1kmi without paper work. 156kmi is def high miles for any turbo'd vehicle.

Personally I wouldn't do it. Used vehicles are headaches alone. But turbo'd used vehicles are like an ongoing migraine. I had a used bugeye a couple of years ago. Had about 130k miles. 1st thing that went wrong, entire exhaust. Replaced it with HKS, did a stage 2 tune. Then my tranny started to go, and eventually went like 2 weeks later. Had I replaced it, I knew eventually the turbo would go, and then probably the motor itself. When I go for tuner cars, I usually buy new or I don't buy at all.
