In 1992 I bought a 1984 GL hatchback 5 speed with four wheel drive from a buddy of mine. It was his first car and I knew the history well. It was super reliable for both of us. I took it off road on many occasions and it held its own. We never got stuck. It seemed indestructible.

Since then, I've owned a 97 Legacy, 04 WRX, 01 Forester, 04 STi and 13 Forester.

i was stationed in okinawa japan when i was in the marines. my ssgt had an r32 gts-t with an rb20 with an upgraded turbo, exhaust, tune and some suspension mods. fast lil car. he had taken me and my buddy out one night to check out the local canyon/touge style street racing. he made 2 runs. one solo run with my buddy. and when he came back, an sti challenged him. so i went with him for the challenge. well he got smoked by the sti. after the 3rd corner we couldnt see the sti anymore. needless to say the want for an evo went out the window and when i got back to the states in december of 07, i went straight to the dealership and picked up my hawkeye

Subarus are considered Vermont's "unofficial state vehicle"- it's odd to not see one in every driveway, so they've always been around me, my friends, and strangers. parents owned a '92 legacy wagon- purchased new at the dealership, owned for 10 years and 260k miles. I was always impressed as a kid, living in Vermont that they never put snow tires on it. Just all seasons like every three years, and it never hesitated in the snowy conditions presented, and after warranty was up, all they really did was oil changes and routine maintenance and it never gave any problems. also my go-kart fit right in the back with the rear seats down. From there, after owning a handful of unreliable cars I put all my money into just keeping running, I decided to buy a new Subaru- 05 2.5RS. Now I own an 05 STi and an 08 Legacy 3.0R Limited. I will get another suby for my next vehicle as well.

My first sports car was a 2003 350z I fell in love! Beautiful car, looked amazing , drove great but it was my only car so I had no car to switch to in the winter. The first year i had it was the winter it snowed like crazy in New York and it just sat in my yard . I have a drive way that goes up a steep hill and the rear end just kept slipping. That plus the fact the I always drove around with more then one person ( one my boys use to seriously lay in the trunk of the Z ) I felt I needed back seats. I wanted something with power that was year round. Everyone I talked to pushed an evo on me and after alot of research I picked up a evo. Sadly, I was involved in a bad accident where the other person left the scene. The damage was left on me to repair. The car was totaled the cost of repairs I was being quoted about 14,000 if I remember and stupid me didn't have full coverage insurance
. I was able to sell the car destroyed for a good price and picked up a rebuilt bugeye. I fell in love with it though it was no evo I got it for so cheap and felt I was defiantly getting my money worth out of it .
I had it for 2 Years. Just a few weeks ago I sold it and was close to picking up a bmw 335 but realized how much I loved the Subaru it was everything I was looking for a fun year round car. So I picked up a 2011 wrx and couldn't be more happy .

Default On my third Subie

I'm on my third Subie, and my first WRX. I started off with an Impreza, then a Legacy 3.0R and now a WRX. When I retired my last SUV, I was looking for a car with decent gas mileage and AWD to deal with snowy winters. Subaru was the natural choice and a little bit of turbocharged fun seemed in order when I was ready to get out of my Legacy.

3rd generation owner, my grandpa and my dad have owned several, finally got my first last summer and i love it! i guess it runs in the family we trade stories of goofing around out in the boonies and road trips with friends and doing our own mods(he had a brat with a bed and tv in back when he was my age in the 80's )

My friends family had a Subaru pickup that was fun to drive (late 80's), and then in about 2000-2003 or something I saw a Impreza RS with the giant bug eyes and gold wheels (in the UK, ProDrive car?) and just knew it was the perfect car.

Took me a while, but now the owner of a '13 WRX I couldn't be happier with.

My best friend had an Evo and I started to drool over subarus online for hours on end. The time came for me to transfer schools to a snow town and I decided AWD was the way to go and what better way to go about it than getting my dream car.

My 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee got 12 MPG with its 5.7L HEMI. I got my 2008 OBS to double my gas mileage (my meter says that I am getting 25.2 MPG, which is surprising consider how often I WOT it). My family never has owned a low-to-the-ground car so it's much more fun to drive too. I'm planning on some suspension

Overall I would never drive an SUV ever again.

Needed good mpg with awd, Subaru provides both for a good price too. I bought my 2013 sport premium 5 days ago, now my dad wants one too.

i had a boring hyundai tucson. ive always wanted a wrx or sti. traded my tucson in and bought a loaded 08 wrx premium sedan in january 2008. since then ive modded just about everything. once the 09s came out i upgraded toa vf52 turbo. then got the wife a 2011 forester 2.5x. she loves the forester. im allowed to do anyhting i want to the car as long as i keep it! can argue with a wife that likes my modding addiction! my wrx has been the most reliable vehicle ive ever owned. ive only changed a 02 sensor since it was new. cant beat that!! im gonna be 40 this year and insurance is a great thing when your older, nice and cheap. i cant see myself ever selling this car.

Got tired of the Honda scene and decided to move on to a different platform. My former chef had an 03 bugeye from jacksonville fl, and enlightened me about wrx After few months of getting familiarized with the car I've decided to get my own WRX bugeye

Got tired of V8's i couldnt really mod or work on myself. A couple of caddy's and a magnum R/T.

I wanted something equally fast but more reliable and easier to mod. I wanted an LGT initially but couldnt find a 5th gen.

I ended up with my WRX almost on accident. I was with my girl and we were looking for cars for her, we went and drove the brz (which she didn't like) and I saw a '13 WRX. I am now the proud owner of my first Subie. I have always been a must mustang guy, but I can honestly say, I will never go back.

Purchased an Obsidian black 2010 Legacy GT Limited in December of 2009 as a Christmas gift for the wife. She drove it three times, did not like it and it sat in my garage for a year. Got tired of seeing the car wasting away, so divide the driving duties between that and my Titan LE. Sold my Titan and used my VW's and parked the Subaru. Picked up a Ram Hemi, started modding the Legacy and now am looking forward to using it daily.

When I was younger I always liked the looks of a wrx or sti. Eventually I started looking into them and started to find more and more positives of a Subaru over something else. I then got a 03 Wrx as my first car that I am driving now. The only previous cars i have driven are my parent's Chevy's, Buicks, and a Mazda 6. I hope to stay with Subaru when I purchase my next car after college.

Because it was time as a driver to experience awd and learn to feel out its differences compared to previous ff and fr cars driven.

My father owned a POS Subaru GL Hatchback in the later 90's. Ended up giving it to my brother who decided to jump it on dirt bike trails on the mountains in VA. Ended up knocking the exhaust off so it sounded like a tractor on the way home. That was the first Subaru I ever rode in and it definitely isn't what turned me on to them, LOL.

I guess what got me into it was when I started really getting into cars when I was in my early 20's and reading lots of forums online and seeing the early 2000 STi being posted around. I joined a Scooby forum, forget which one and started reading kill stories but then I kind of lost my passion for them after I learned about the 2003/2004 Cobra. Then I became a regular at SVTPerformance in 2003 and pretty much learned about all different type of cars there (great site, not completely against other types of cars). I am still an active member there today.

I still had a spot in my heart for the WRX, it has always been a great looking car. I bought a 09 Impreza 2.5i because WRX wasn't possible at the time. I loved the style of the body when I first looked at it in the lot. We were looking at Toyota Corolla S and a few other ECO boxes. As soon as I walked past the Satin White Impreza, I told my ex that she wanted to get that car because Subaru is an awesome car company. However, I was just talking out of my ass, I didn't know too much I just convinced her AWD was a must with the 2 kids. She ended up falling in love with it too. It was a bit more than we wanted but we got it.

Sold it in 2011 and drove an old 2000 Camry around up until May and I decided, **** it, I don't have a wife to tell me no anymore and I've busted my ass the past 2 years raising my kids on my own and working so I started looking online and found the car I have now. That was the first time I've seen the new body style and immediately fell in love then the salesman started it up and I was done. I wasn't expecting such a nice, low tone rumble. I always thought they sounded kind of farty. Went there the day after and picked it up. 2012 WRX used, it had right under 15k miles.

Well, I've always liked them.

Had 1993 Stealth RT/TT and loved the turbo/awd, when I was a kid, slowly moved up the horsepower ladder between several cars.. Got out of imports and into domestics.

Bought a 2000 Trans Am and drove it until 2009, when i knew i was having kids, so I bought a Hummer to carry the kids, Trans Am moved into the hangar.

Drove the Hummer until January of this year when my house burnt to the ground. Good news, Trans Am and Hummer made it. Bad news, the wife's ride didn't.

I ride a work share van to work and leave an Integra in the parking lot, so, after the fire, the wife got the Hummer and I started driving the Trans Am more and started missing the power.

Told the wife she needed to find a car. 5+ months later, she still hadn't decided. So, she got a the Hummer and I started searching for a 4 door fun mobile. I bought an Impreza.

I'm the first and only one in my family to own a subaru! I've always likes the boxer rumble of one with an exhaust, and it just so happened that my father found one for cheap just around winter time. So I couldn't let the opportunity pass, bought it, and then sold my Accord. It's my DD/project, and I just love it even though it's a bit of a money pit lol

My first car was an Subaru Legacy Sport Sedan. I got it in highschool/college. It was a quick little car and I loved it. It was stolen while I was in college which was one of the worst days of my life. It was recovered a week later on an empty tank. I knew that that the thieves had joy ridden it til empty, drove it hard and starved the turbo of fuel. So the motor was toast.

Still hungry for the Subaru bug, I got a 99 outback which was loyal for 8 years or so. The head gasket finally blew this year so I moved on...

I bought an 02 Wrx in world rally blue. I've always loved rally racing and especially subarus. So now that I'm a little older and more financially stable, I pulled the trigger. I love it!

I rode in my friends cousins 2004 STI at the age of 12. It was the first year the STI was introduced and I fell in love with it. Then at the age of 17 I purchased a 2004 wrx. My favorite year of them all.
