The car is setup for competition in SCCA Solo Autocross' STU Class. The rules basically allow for a fair amount of handling modifications, but very limited power mods. Exhaust, Intake, and Tune (Stock Boost Required) are allowed. Per the rules, "The engine management system parameters and operation may be modified only via the methods listed below. These allowances also apply to forced induction cars, except that no changes to standard boost levels, intercoolers, or boost controls are permitted. Boost changes indirectly resulting from allowed modifications are permis- sible but directly altering or modifying the boost or turbo controls, either mechanically or electronically, is strictly prohibited." So with that said the tune has stock boost tables, stock wastegate duty, and anything else you can think of boost related is stock as well. Quite happy the car can perform this well in this state and makes for a great daily and fun car both.

No video sadly.. hopefully the slip photos with and without the car are sufficient. We didn't expect to eat that hard. Our plan was to be ecstatic if it would even run a 12.5ET since we ran a 12.6ET last year and the 60' was just a major bonus.

Thanks to my best bud Corbin and Turn in Concepts for all their help!

I'm new to this PPB section.. so if I botched the format somehow, just let me know.

You guys sound like my buddies last night with your 60' talk. I just figured it was my fastest 60', but my buddies and you guys are making it out like it is a GREAT one. One mentioned he thought it might be a street tire 60' record for an STi or Subaru? I have been drag racing quite a few times, but I am not too versed in the standards or fast times of Subarus or any cars really.

But yea I don't mind describing my launch technique. I basically just launch off my foot by blipping the throttle quite high in the rpm's and dump the clutch I suppose. I pretty much just feel it out. Is that a reasonable response?

I have been asked if I wanted to use launch control and flat-foot-shifting in the past, but I have always stuck to launching the car myself and lift shifting.. I don't know if I could get used to flat-foot-shifting

Thanks for the kind words guys.

So much for your heatsoak concerns! I guess this kind of materializes your self described 'gorilla shifting' and how you took out a 6 speed!

The Rivals seem to be the tire to have this year! I think that's the route I'll be going here fairly soon. Great driving!

Do you know approx what kinda power you are making? For stock boost this thing is extremely fast.

edit: I have no idea honestly. VD would suggest something like ~300hp/~310tq, but the trap speed of the car may say otherwise? I do not know.

Nice runs bud. Trap speed would indicate high 200's in the whp range....although a true whp is so skewed, based on different types of dynos. At TiC, the thing would likely read in the mid-200's. On a Mustang dyno, a bit more....on a dynojet, a bit more. You get the idea.

Regardless, that's a nice run, given the trap speed. Are you going to make it out Saturday for the drag race meet at Tri State? Test n Tune 12-5 with a bunch of Subarus.
