If you can't afford to do something right, why do it at all? Save a paycheck, accrue some money, and then purchase a proper catback.

Because i said i have to replace my muffler soon. I was wondering what non-stock muffler would sound best. Apparently nearly everyone missed that part of my original post.

You want a rumble but have a ts wagon.. Your won't get it. glasspacks are junk. Sound raspy And in general are low quality.. Go with a $120 Ebay cat back Anna get all stainless and a decent sound. Although out will sound like a Honda.. Most all Ebay cat backs are half decent. Not the best. But they work

Thanks for the tip, ive been looking around ebay. I mean, im not trying to sound like an STi race car. Just something a little nicer than what I have now in the stock muffler and not a lot of extra cash to spend on it. I find it hard to believe every single aftermarket muffler will sound like ****. Im not looking to get a 5-star rated sound. Just something a bit nice sounding than stock.

you dont have to buy brand name to get a rumble...i have a hks replica and it sounds amazing, good quality, and am not thinking about the day i will trade it...just save like 100to150 so you can buy a replica off of someone here or get something made at a shop...case closed

Thanks! How much was yours? And when you put it on did you add any new pipes or just the muffler?

but im curious, how do you run an exhaust without a muffler? isnt it a law to have one? or no as long as your not really loud?

That's what I'm saying.

And yeah, it is illegal, but I'm in WV and cops don't really bother you for loud exhaust. They are used to jack up old Chevys and Ford's with glasspacks. Only problem I would have is passing inspection because of not having cats(I now run Invidia N1 race catless), but my brother has a garage and does inspections. So I'm set.

i have a cherry bomb on my car between the dp and the cat back. the cat back (ebay) has a resonator and a glass pack at the end. it is loud, but doesn't sound terrible (a touch raspy). i have had the bomb for 3 years now and it is holding up great. ( that is with harsh salty winters.) i actually am going to cut out my rear glass pack and install one of these. Cherry Bomb Extreme Muffler .

later i will post an exhaust vid. this is what it looks like.

harsh winter
