Thumbs down Peoria Subaru aka Moore Jeep Chrysler Service..

Here's my review of Peoria Subaru Service, so hope everybody watches out but this is just my personal experience and maybe others will have a delightful time there... Just wanted to share since I'm planning on posting on a couple of review sites to make others aware. Is this the post of a total moron who gives others the benefit of the doubt? Yes, just go back and read the Kingpin threads for proof of that. However, the least I could do was make others aware and maybe save some time, money, and aggrivation.

Peoria Subaru (aka Moore Jeep Chrysler),

Issue 1: On the last service visit roughly 4 weeks ago, i'd brought my Subaru in for service @ Peoria Subaru mainly because they have a technician who works there that I trust with my car. Unfortunately, he was not working on this particular Saturday and my time is limited so it was left in the hands of another tech. After the service, they pulled my car forward and I'd immediately noticed a ding on the fender where it appears they'd pulled up on it in an effort to raise it onto their lift for service. The advisor was notified and he instantly blamed it on a possible rubbing from my tire. I'd made him aware there was no rubber marks, scuffing, etc and certainly knew it wasn't there before. He promised to have his manager call the following monday to attempt to resolve the issue which never happened. 1 week later they called for a follow up survey which I'd mentioned the ding and still no reply after the survey call.

Issue 2: Driving to work, I'd heard a light crackle, not a rock, or any other debris, before my sunroof exploded! Sounds crazy, but Edmunds and several other websites can verify that sunroofs occasionally explode from either cabin pressure differences or due to a defect in the manufacturing of the glass. Against my better judgement, my car went back to Peoria Subaru to start the warranty process with Subaru and get my sunroof repaired under warranty. This was on a Wednesday and the advisor said Subaru would contact me within a day or two for the issue of coverage. After checking the status with Peoria, the advisor claimed he never heard from Subaru. Fed up, I'd called on the following Saturday and still no information, so we contacted Subaru directly. Subaru had advised us that Subaru had notified Peoria Subaru the day after my car was dropped off and due to the information from Peoria Subaru, they would not cover under warranty since Peoria claimed it was from rock damage that first hit my roof, then the sunroof. My sunroof to this day has zero rock damage and no idication that anything hit my sunroof! I'd challenged Subaru to send a rep to see for themselves since Peoria Subaru had provided false information and am currently awaiting a response.

Issue 3: After going through my insurance for the repair Peoria Subaru ordered my sunroof and replaced it with what I'm hoping at this point is a genuine factory part. They said it was completed so upon arrival guess what there was more of? Body damage such as scratches on the upper A-Pillar passenger side, scratches on the driver side front fender, and the remaining pieces of broken glass rolling around in my headliner on every turn. I'd notified Subaru of America at that time of Peoria Subarus business practices and that's when Peoria Subaru called me back after that email in an effort to rectify the situation and make repairs on the damages that their dealership caused and finish the job of my sunroof and the remaining broken glass rattling around everywhere in my headliner.

Issue 4: This is where we start to see a pattern in either my foolishness for trusting this sleezy place or in Moore groups lack of customer service, apathy, etc. I'd allowed them to once again, try to fix the scratches, the fender ding from a few weeks ago, and once and for all be done with this aggravation. Peoria Subaru/Moore provided a rental car and gave their excuses of why everything happed the way it did and my hope was they were sincere. WRONG! Picked up my car this afternoon and again they took no responsibility for the fender ding, there was still scratches, and my bumper was unfastened and pulled away from the front fender! Guess the car wasn't ready after all! The manager offered me service coupons for my troubles!!! LOL!!! Thanks but no thanks!!! This place doesn't get that compensation, or coupons isn't what everybody is looking for! Accountability, and fixing what you're responsible for is the right answer!!!

If you're reading this even years later, just know that it's a family business as they proudly exclaim and that some things clearly don't change...

Thanks for the heads up since thats the closest dealer to me.

I know that when I went there to purchase my new car, the sales dept wanted to ***** me on my trade saying "Its a truck, theres no market here, blah blah blah". So I went to another dealer who offered me ALOT more on my trade and I now have a new STi.

Ironically, had the same issue w/ them when I'd wanted to trade my truck in with them as well. Ended up using Costco through Camelback and it was a pleasant buying experience. Peoria is super close as well, plus the tech who works there that I trust was the incentive for going. Now, it's simply time to cut the cord and warn the masses.

Made sure to update the BBB since its a legitimate complaint involving damage to customer property. Should take 24 hours to update.

That sucks Virgil. My bugeye used to go to Peoria since it was closer to my house. I personally never had any issues with them. I've been taking the new car to Camelback since that's where I bought it. Looks like I'll keep taking it there.

Virgil,

Amen. Ive had my car there maybe twice. I'll never take it back. Peoria is the closest dealership to me, but I wont go there ever again.

Edit: Im not going back because of other reasons. Not because of what Virgil said.

Nice review. I almost bought mine from there. They were ******* and obviously didn't want to sell me a car. I went to camelback Subaru and they have excellent service.

jeez sorry to hear that man i myself have had a bad experience myself but with another subaru dealer. Long story short basically took my Sti to Subaru Superstore in chander and found out i needed to replace my engine harness and what ended up happening they had my car for a WHOLE MONTH.Finally i got my car back and later that night i swapped my Bov out since my old hks had a crack on it causing a huge boost leak any way after installation i wanted to get on it and hear how it sounded and noticed there was no spool or anything it was all motor and i was like WTF! next day i took it back in and later i personally got a call from the head honcho there he basically said they dont know whats wrong with the car and that they see my car had some work done to it AKA( the Bov) and they wanted to charge more to look into this. i said no thanks and to my car else where. in the end i came to found out there was a BOLT DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF MY TURBO and basically destroyed my compressor wheel and locked the whole thing up. In the end i was screwed over and had to replace my turbo so thats my story about them to warn ppl of this dealer
and for those who probably call BS on this i have plenty of pics and still have the turbo with the engine bolt in the center
overall im just warning everyone and thats my personal experience with them

Nobody should get bashed for posting their personal experiences, especially here since we've got to communicate with our community that appreciates these quirky little beasts we call subies. If we were driving Hyundai elentras or priuses we prolly wouldn't give a damn in the first place, but we're enthusiasts.

I've never had them work on my car before and probably wouldn't let them either. I always go there for parts, fluids, oil filters ext. and always have good service and feedback, But I can just tell that they aren't a trust worthy dealer. I think I saw the first STi they ever had on the lot the other day. I only ever see WRX's

Funny, Camelback was the 3rd dealer I went to and they were the only ones willing to deal on a STi, took 20 min there and the deal was done. I'd have to agree on the pleasant buying experience.

I live walking distance from there and refuse to go there for parts. I do all my own work so I've only dealt w their service department once and it was a huge hassle. camelback subaru is well worth the drive

The thing that makes all of this very painful besides my rex being in worse shape now than before they ham fisted it, is that they had a couple of FXT's on the lot and my desire to test drive one is a burning one! Really want a turbo'd direct inject FXT modified, slammed, and ballin.. Hopefully Camelback will have one to drive on my next service visit.

Funny, I live a mile from Camelback Subaru. I bought my 2002 WRX Wagon from them brand new. But it was also under different ownership. It's now owned by the Van Tuyl Group. I refuse to do business with them.

I like one of the mechanics there very much, he's saved me money in the past. But he's also told me that he's pushed to sell work the car doesn't need. Also one of their service writers lied to me. It's too long a story to post here. I now go to the Subaru Superstore in Chandler for my parts or get them online.

Subaru Superstore gives me a 25% discount. Which is close to the online price. I just mentioned NASIOC. Camelback was charging me 10%, or more, over the MSRP. YMMV.

Calvin how long ago was this? I work parts at Camelback and take care of a lot of people with their parts prices. We carry quite a few aftermarket parts as well now, and will be carrying a lot more as time progresses.

Last time I priced parts at Camelback Subaru was last summer, in August. Each time the price was much higher than the MSRP given by any online dealer. Sorry I can't give the specific prices but I priced all the belts.

ABC Collision is part of ABC Nissan. ABC Nissan and Camelback Subaru are part of the Van Tuyl Group.

Sure miss the Avondale Subaru days when you could go to a meet, hang out with the techs who were also suby guys and know you'd be in good hands no matter who worked on your car.

I've heard people say the same thing. Rich used to work there. Why did they go out out business?
