Moar pics:

Deep channel on the outer edge of Mclaren's diffuser:

"Tire Squirt" area deflector made from titanium. This is legal because the open aperture shares a tiny gap with the outer edge of the floor.

RBR carbon gearbox. Note the narrowed rod ends and big chunk of ballast underneath.

Detail of the Merc diffuser:

Not the greatest picture, but it shows the exhaust expansion chamber which helps sustain the "blown" effect effect of the rear floor briefly while off throttle:

Mclaren hub:

Beautiful shot of the RBR sidepod, showing the many electronic controllers. The bottom one (light grey) with the tiny gauge is, I believe, the Magnetti Marelli KERS controller. The orange harness is the high voltage cabling.

Lotus is preparing to run an additional pod under the nose, ScarbsF1 guessed it might be for data acquisition.

Thirty-three bucks for an app that's only good for one year is ludicrous.

My predictions:

1. Vettel
2. Button
3. Alonso
4. Raikkonen
5. Hamilton
6. Webber
7. Rosberg
8. Grosjean
9. Perez
10. Massa

Pole: Hamilton
Fastest Lap: Hamilton
Positions gained: Raikkonen

Its always a crap shoot the first race. I do feel like the top 5 teams will be out front and the mercedes seems to have good one lap pace.

The pics are amazing, keep them up. I love the close ups of the cars with their clothes off. Its cool to see just how well/ tightly packaged they are all while maintaining the lowest possible COG.

For those of you with a Twitter account, simply subscribe to @ScarbsF1. He has quite a few people feeding him spy pictures and he's quick with the retweets and commentary. It's a freaking gold mine of pics like this!

The weather forecast has become a bit more variable. Wunderground.com is showing a 30%/20% chance of rain for Saturday/Sunday (respectively), but weather.com is showing a 60%/40% chance (again respectively), and F1.com is mirroring the latter. A wet race will really make fantasy F1 challenging!

I expect most teams will run a lot on Friday to try the latest bits with the expectation that Saturday's P3 could be a wash (literally). Quali will be unpredictable.

Regardless, I'm SUPER EXCITED!!!!!!!

Kimi currently 1.5 seconds faster than anyone else. He's within .3 sec of Button's best FP1 time last year.

Yeah, seams like the car's this year are def. gonna be faster then last year. Probably has to do with stickier tires. Wonder how they will last during the race
