Pretty happy with the results, worst part is cleaning your car because doing clear - it doesnt hide anything... and i've never been the type to wash my car to often (note the dirtiness of the car *sadface) . I've dipped small projects before like my roof and interior parts.. but never at this scale.
Project: used the "create your color" plastidipped cans. with the 50/50 mix thinner (65% xylene & 35% vm&p). cost: around $120 (already had a spray gun) time: 5-7 hours smoothness: 10/10 ease of project: 9/10 (prep work is a pain) used:5x 22 ounce cans of clear plastidip + 5x22 ounce of thinner coats: 6 coats spray gun: wagner (518080 Control Spray Max HVLP Sprayer) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() my youtube video of this project: http://www.youtube.com/user/edlinnguyen

So you basically just did a clear coat on top of the white pearl to get a matte finish?
Looks awesome by the way, though I'm getting a bit of a BMW feeling with the black roof on a white car.. |

I thought I had been lazy in the past with garage door sealer. Now I don't feel so bad.
I'd keep showing off a limited color like that though |

How do the door wells look? I'm thinking white plastidip on my Legacy but it's winter green and i'm skeptical about wasting my money to just peel it away.

Lots of happy dippers out there... U mean door handles...? Mine are fine but if any problems just peel the dip around the handles and redo .. Don't have to peel the whole car

Thinking about dipping my 02 WRX. Is it me or does your hood, fender and doors all look a different white? Even your rear quarter and trunk look different. Is it the photo only?

I'll never understand painting that section of the front bumper black, it looks like you got in an accident and broke it off. The flat white looks cool, but there's too much DIY going on for my taste. IMO a proper front lip, reflector back in the headlights (tinted/painted or not), white grill, and no rear "lip" would make a world of difference.
