Default 2011 wrx sti thoughts

Hey guys after spinning a bearing in my 99 impreza and selling my evo 9 with 550hp im in the market for a new ride and was considering buying a 2011 wrx sti sedan, what are yall's thoughts on it, does it have the capability to be a beast?

haha thanks for hijacking, jack. of course it takes money to get big horsepower, im no stranger to that. im just concerned if this engine can take it. is anyone is pulling big numbers on these newer models?

Depends on your definition of "a beast" OP. 550whp like your EVO? Sure, start selling your wife and kids and put that nice house on the market. And then start saving your pennies for when **** breaks. It will.

you had an evo 9, so whatever mods u did on that expect the same on the STI to bring it to that level.

LOL! Well lucky for me im not married and have no kids but yes i do have a mortgage. im familiar with things breaking of course coming from the evo but nothing too bad as it wasn't a daily and more of a weekend toy.

i have to do my homework of course with what parts are available, AMS, Cobb, buschur..only the best parts.

Search through the member galleries and you'll see some nice builds. Some notable builds include xluben's (2011 WRX), rsutton's (2011 WRX), and jockeygolf (2011 STi).

Yep. I can tell you rsutton and xluben went through an engine (pistons) each. Robb's at about 420whp now on a built engine. That's more than enough for a DD or occasional track car. Hell the SRRT car was at 430whp and it was very competitive right up until Aquilante tried to shove it up the Camaro's ass.
