Hello,

**update: SOLD SOLD SOLD to Objector.**

Getting into something a little newer and more comfortable (I'm old now) and selling my project for the last several years. This car has been my baby, daily driven and has been maintained very well. Never tracked or driven very hard. Looking for the right person to take over where I left off. All work done by myself or with the help of close friends, so any questions please ask. Price is $8200 OBO

1997 Impreza L wagon, brilliant red. Clean WA title. Passes emissions, new tags and emissions test Nov-12.

complete front to back 2002 EJ205 wrx swap. 77k on WRX when I swapped it. Drivetrain, interior (dash swap 100% functional), wiring harness, gas tank, subframes, etc. If it isn't painted red, it isnt an original part. Drivetrain has 157k on it, mostly driving I-5 from Bellingham,WA to Vancouver, WA for several years to visit long distance Gf and family. Maintenance done regularly, and even when not needed, details below. car has been very reliable, and gets 24-30 MPG.

Build thread. Havent updated this in forever, but lots of pics and info.
http://www.rs25.com/forums/f145/t79371-jerms-wagon.html

Parts currently on the car:

Engine
-TD04 from 05 FXT ~60k miles

-COBB SF intake
-open-source road tuned at 14psi

Drivetrain
-Group N motor, transmission, and pitch stop mounts (under 5k on these)
-OEM Subaru STI complete 5spd short shifter assembly w/ Kartboy bushings

Suspension
-Prodrive P1 springs
-KYB GR2 struts
-WRX tophats
-Whiteline F/R swaybars. rear is 3 way adjustable
-polyurethane steering rack bushings
-WRX fender braces

Brakes
-Stoptech stage 2 WRX kit (F/R slotted rotors, street pads, SS braided lines this kit has under 8k on it
-STI master cylinder and brake booster from 07 STI

Interior
-WRX dash 100% complete and functional w/ 6 disc changer
-02 WRX wagon front and rear seats
-WRX aluminum pedals
-STI floor mats and all-weather floor mats
-upgraded panasonic door speakers, WRX under seat sub
-WRX compass rear-view mirror
-05 WRX (red color) momo wheel
-2012 WRX 5spd shift knob

Exterior
-JDM GF8 tail lights
-DEPO clear headlights
-Amber corners
-Ociari front splitters and side skirts
-Lowest legal tint in WA state
-debadged, but have all the badges if you want them, dont know why you would.

Wheels
Depending on the price, will come with one of these options:
-07 WRX wheels powder coated dark grey metalic w/clear coat. Goodyear F1 all-seasons with ~5k miles
-05 LGT wheels with Michellin Primacy ~9k miles
-98 RS 5 spoke painted dark grey with Bridgestone Blizzaks ~65% tread left

Maintenance:
Pretty anal about maintenance, coolant w/ water wetter flushed once per year. Tranny and rear diff fluid changed once per year. Always Redline. running uncle Scottys in the tranny right now, straight redline sucks in the winter in WA. Oil every 3k with Dino 5W 30W. The car has consumed about 1/4 quart per tank of gas since the swap. Never more, never less. This is right around the 1qt per 1200 miles acceptable by Subaru on this engine. Compression tested 8k miles ago when plugs last replaced, within 2-3psi on all four cylinders. Plugs replaced once per year.

@ 77k when swapped
-Timing belt/water pump/tensioner (timing belt and tensioner replaced again at ~110k when a cam seal leak was repaired)
-heads completely rebuilt
-seals/gaskets replaced with OEM. Head gaskets, front and rear mains, cam seals, etc.
-new OEM clutch, flywheel re-machined

~130/140k
both front axles replaced, one went first, and surprise, the second went a year later.

Other maintenance ~5k ago
-new OEM wheel bearings front and rear
-new OEM ball joints
-new OEM steering tierod ends
-new radiator 1 mo ago.

I am sure I have forgotten some things also, will add them as I remember.

Now the bad:
-Airbags do not work. I have the front impact sensors from the WRX, but never got around to figuring out where I wanted to mount them on the GF8 framerails. Wiring is already routed to the front and just needs to be plugged in.
-ABS was engaging for no reason at very low speeds, so I pulled the fuse a long time ago. I never liked ABS anyways.
-exterior has plenty of dings and scratches. Not nearly as bad as some cars at this age, but it is probably a 7/10 at best.
-ebrake shoes are tired and need to be replaced

To be clear, all maintenance are wrx oem or better. There are no parts on the car that are original L other than the body. It drives like a stage 2 wrx, only slightly quicker because it is lighter.

All swapped Gc's are worth more than bugeyes nowadays for some reason. This is a clean car though.

Thanks guys, will post some more pics tomorrow when I am back home. The buyer for this car will definitely be someone who wants a swapped classic Impreza and not a bugeye. It takes a lot of time, patience, and $ to do it correctly on your own. Insurance is much cheaper as well.

Wanted to add that the car does not have AC currently. I have a condensor, pump, and lines ready to be installed that will be included with the sale. It is hot for like 30 days in WA so I never got around to it.

Yes, in for interior pics, and details on what doesn't work perfectly as if it were a factory wrx... i.e. you said abs doesn't work right (is it the wrx or the L abs unit? did the L have abs originally even?), and no a/c. Cruise work right? anything else? all PW/PDL?
But why, oh why, must it be red

It is the 4ch WRX ABS. worked normally for a very long time, and then it started to engage at very low speed occaisionally, right when about to come to a complete stop at a light, which was annoying. I never liked the feedback from the ABS anyway, especially in snow, so I just pulled the fuse. Could probably troubleshoot it but I have run the car with the fuse pulled for about a year now. I had planned on doing a hard delete of the ABS unit if I kept the car. The AC lines and condenser were damaged from the donor car. I did buy a complete AC setup from an 04 STI, but it is still in my garage un-installed. Those parts would be included in the sale of course and should bolt right in. Firewall was modified at time of the dash swap for heater core/AC to hook up. Cruise control stopped working recently, I think it is just the typical pedal switch issue with the WRX so I can get that working this week and will post when it is fixed. power door locks work with the WRX key fob. All doors and hatch except the drivers door unfortunately which never had an actuator in it from the L. One rear window has never worked since before the swap. Depending on the selling price and concern of the buyer I could troubleshoot that as well. I assume the buyer of this car would be a mechanically inclined person.

Auto dimming mirror with compass, all lights, rear wiper, HVAC controls, 6 disc changer, etc. work great. Clock on the dash never worked, but intended to replace with a guage pod.

I also have un-installed a cluster surround gauge pod, Prosport premium electronic boost gauge, and Innovate LC-1 wideband with AFR gauge. both gauges appear black faced when off. Will post these for sale separately but could be included with the car depending on timing.

tomorrow I will post much more pictures once I am home including interior and what the car looks like with the powdercoated 07 wheels. I am out of town now.

Added some pics. Photobucket apparently destroys picture quality... Some pics with the PC'd 07 wheels and some pics with the RS 5 spokes with blizzaks. One older interior pic, I need to clean the interior up a bit and will post new pics of the interior.

Got rid of the pics with gold RS wheels, since they are now dark grey in the current pics.
