It has been a long weekend but I finally have music back in my car!

All 4 (yes 4!) Massive Audio BX4 amps are installed and wired up. This is the preliminary wiring just to get everything tuned. Some of the wires will be changed and cleaned up...then covered with black w/red stripe TechFlex. Another panel will be installed over top of everything that will have removable panels to see the amps and subs...that also hides all of the wiring at the same time. It will also give full function back to the hatch.

For those that haven't been following along. Each driver (tweeter, midrange, mid bass, sub) on each side is now getting 460 watts RMS off of a bridged channel of each amp. Yes...even each individual tweeter is getting 460 RMS each. All of the processing is taken care of via a Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3. I really wanted to install that with the amps but there just wasn't room, so it is under the passenger seat.

For those that were wondering...here is how everything looks while I am driving around. As I mentioned before, I am going to make a custom floor that has removable panels...but the factory one works for now.

Jeff Smith ATL and I spent some quality time together with the car at Cars of Atlanta while he scoped and tuned the audio. I really like working with Jeff. Just a cool guy to hang out with and he does an incredible job on the tuning. For a guy like me that doesn't have a lot of experience in this area...that is invaluable.

The result. HOLY S%$T! That is the sound I was looking for. Simply awesome.

Looks clean man. How do you like those JL subs? That .8cu is a little tempting.

Why are you pushing so much power to your front stage? 460w is way over kill for tweeters, mids, and most mid bass's. Granted your mids are 8ohm drivers so they are seeing 230w, but still they have like an rms of 30w.

Set up looks sick! I used to be big in the car audio scene and dealt a lot with Sound Sensations in Marietta (this was back in 2001-2003 time frame).

The subs actually came from there.

RMS ratings are calculated at full range not crossed over. So the tweeters, mids and mid basses can actually take a lot more than that when crossed at their most efficient frequency range. The increased wattage gains crispness, impact and volume without any distortion.

I would say they are more aimed towards the rearview mirror but not pointed up to it.

On the pods, do the 4" mids have an enclosure built off the pillar or are they just open to the opening made during fabrication if this makes sense?

Great build!!

As an audiophile that knows little about car audio, what's something I should know?

I'm looking for crisp tweets and mids with enough bass, nothing too crazy. Mainly listening to Hip Hop/R&B.

BTW, your setup is super clean! The a-pillars are bad ass too!
