Default two concerns.. timing and ticking

so my car started making a ticking noise as of today and i know its not engine internals because when i push in the clutch the sound dampens noticably. I just put in a used trans (110k) on it and a brand new clutch pressure plate and flywheel. so my only thinking on this would be TOB? what does anyone think?
(i hope to post a video of the sound soon enough)

my second concern is the high timing im having. at 2500k in 5th gear-cruising- its at 40degrees. now if im correct that seems a bit high?.. im running cobb stage 2, 91 octane catless turbo back and up. can anyone answer this?

side note; im able to read my timing adv through an "ultra-gauge" that plugs into my obdII. so as i cant data log i can at least monitor whats going on.
