Default 01 impreza rs rear axle Circlip damage, HOW TO

I'm guessing that I have a damaged circlip in the rear differential. My axle pops in my rear differential and keeps wanting to pop right back out. Anyone ever replaced one before? does it involve pulling the differential apart? or can it be done by just removing the seal on the side that I am having a problem with?

The circlip that holds this models axle is actually in the diff. From what I understand anyhow.

NOpe, on a 01 rs with the LSD diff, The circlip is inside of the Diff. \

And the picture of the male axle on the right?
I'm not seeing a clip on the end.

No clips, I got my new axle in, The internal clip held. Now I just need to get my Correct lateral links in so I don't keep breaking axles.

The rear axles never had a clip. It's in the diff. Same applies with the R180. If you have a newer tranny, those clips can be found on the front male axles that go into the tranny.
