OMG the vettez!

Default Alright you fab guys, help me out (making tie rods)

So I want to make some rear tie rod ends for my corvette like thes

and I'm reasonably sure I can make them for cheaper then the $320 they go for. I already have a set of these

So, I just need:
1) the mount to the sub frame (Could I shape this out of ALU? or would something else be better?)
2) another spherical bearing with a threaded end to attach to 1
3) a longer piece of tubing with threads on each ends to connect 2, to the tie rod ends I already have. (Need to measure for length).
4) Weld some of it up, and I'm good.. right?

So great fab experts, do you think this can happen? or should I just break down and buy it? oh.. and the reason I'm posting this is because with the economy being what It is I need to save money to afford to gel my chest hair and buy new gold bling... I drive a vette after all.

All those parts are readily available at most circle track shops. I plan on doing the same thing whenever i get some time, but I'll be welding up a new mount an inch or so back so i can get more clearance for the shocks.
