Hey everyone i recently installed a proximity sensor in my hatch and was having a lot of trouble with the placement of the the dei proximity sensor. Where is the best spot to place it? When it was near the shift boot it only chirped when was at the the front windows.( no response when i peeked into the rear passenger windows)

Place it under the center console. As close to the center of the vehicle as possible. Also the mounting tabs need to face the front and rear of the vehicle. The sensor will also have 2 Zones that are both adjustable. It will take some doing but you can dial it in to your own preference.

Are these things still super sensitive to environmental changes? I ended up turning mine off in my old car because it would get super sensitive and end up going off non stop if it was wet out.

Which remote start/ security system do you have? Depending on which one, you can turn off the proximity sensor when you don't want it with the remote
