Default Steering Wheel Controls with Pioneer 3400

Sup guys? I apologize if this is a duplicate thread.. i tried to look through some similar ones but i'll be honest here, i know diddly squat about car electronics.

I just purchased a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH double din head unit. I'm going to install it in a few days. One of my concerns is that the next/back and volume up/down buttons on my steering wheel will not work without rigging it somehow.

Does anybody have any suggestions as to getting these to work? I got the compatible wiring harness for my car.

FYI, i have a 13 impreza sport hatch.

any help would be MUCH appreciated!

you need a steering wheel control adapter that plugs into your headunit, and then connects to your wiring harness

check out AE64.com - he has a lot of good info and even sells the Axxess ASWC and gives great instructions.

i bought my harness and ASWC from him and it made the install of my X940bt a breeze!

Definitely check out ae64.com, if u have the harness already he will sell you the additional three wires for SWC. I bought the wires and the ASWC unit from him a couple weeks ago. The instructions he sends you makes the job go smoothly.

So i'm looking at the website but it seems like there are a ton of different things I can buy. I am confused. Can somebody help? I already have the 20 pin harness, i just need this ASWC adapter. I just don't know which one to buy.

If you email him, he'll be able to answer any questions. I bought the three extra SWC wires from him that just snap into ur existing harness instead of having to rewire everything.

Yeah email SVXdc he'll tell you what he can sell you for your situation. he has a email template on his website so just follow it. But yea you need the Axxess ASWC module to go with your 20 pin harness.
