That's what happens when a general mod whines and cries their way into being an OT mod.

Vostok made a new thread as 5.56 was ~50 posts to 10k. Lippert locked it and was being a little girl about the previous thread not being at exactly 10k. We pointed out how ridiculous this was. He threw a tantrum and locked the old thread and deleted Vostok's new one.

He's fun to have around. A great addition to the OT moderation staff.

I got the scope mount off the MKII. Screws were definately on with Locktite - they made a loud snap when they broke free. I thought that I was going to mess up the screwdriver slots at one point. For added fun, the mount had a bead of glue running the length of it...
Now on to the sanding/polishing/buffing

sweet! that was a known issue on those guns....I'm sure the previous owner never expected to need to take it off.

Those Rugers came with scope rings too but as this was bought used there were none in the box. I never used a scope on a pistol but figured a weaver style mount would be more flexible for either a scope or red dot. I can always re-install this if I want to. I just wanted to get it off so I can polish/buff the entire thing to a mirror finish.

OMGHi2U

I want to set up my Mini 14 to be able to use the iron sights as well as the scope. I need to get some new see through rings, which is no problem, but the front sight is missing off of the flash hider. All that is there is a flat spot with 2 screw holes. I don't think it's the original flash hider, and cannot find any sight blades only for sale.
