Default RIP: Bugeye Down

Ran my bugeye over a curb and it has been declared totaled. It's sitting at Gillman Subaru SW right now. Does anyone have experience with this? Would I be allowed to rip after market parts off of the car? If so I'm thinking about giving steep discounts on parts for those who would want to meet at Gillman Saturday. Anyway, bye bye baby, at least I was with you in the end.

Not really interested in the headache. I guess that would be the only way to rip stuff out huh? Would really like to rip out the gauges though...

Can only take out what you can replace with other parts. Either put back the original stuff you kept or visit a junk yard for the stuff you know you want to swap. Basically the car will need to have what it would have come with from the factory. If you have aftermarket gauges like in a center pod maybe just toss in an original clock?

sorry for your loss. when my 05 got totaled my insurance let me flatbed the car to my house and take off all my aftermarket stuff and put the oem parts back on. i had to buy some cheap stock wheels and stock brakes and little odds and ends, but it came out more beneficial to do that and sell the other parts then to let it all go with the car.

in for parts

Thanks guys. Really sad she's gone but most importantly everyone is safe. I'll try to come up with a list of parts that yall could yank off the car Saturday and add it to my "WRX Goods" for sale add.

I talked to insurance and they said we can rip off aftermarket parts and replace with stock. I'll post up pics and what items I believe are still good. Not sure if I really want people digging in to get the turbo or injectors as that's a project that I'm not willing to undertake. Damage was done to the suspension and wheels but everything else (maybe the exhaust took a beating?) should be good.

Yes, the aftermarket replace with stock is correct. Did this with a truck of mine once.

They probably don't even care if the parts are installed, just there. Maybe toss them in the trunk

**** Asterisks means that I need your stock part in exchange

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
1. $375 Cobb AccessPort V2 for 02-05WRX now for sale!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

* 2. $25 K&N Intake Filter (barely used and for stock air box)

3. $5 Stock'ish brake pads with plenty of life

4. $25 Stock 02 intercooler splitter

5. $$$(Make Offer) 2 Sportmax 050 Blurple rims http://i603.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps305797be.jpg

Below are parts that are still on the wrecked car at Gillman Subaru SW that will be pulled tomorrow (Saturday 12/14/13). If you are not there some of the stuff like the exhaust, short shifter, intercooler, and some other things won't get pulled. I don't want to gut her and will need some replacement parts so you will need to meet me there and you can swap them. PRICES ARE NEGOTIABLE SO THROW ME SOME OFFERS; REALLY WANT IT ALL GONE TOMORROW. They close at 1pm so I'll get there at 11AM. I don't expect it to take me more than 30 minutes to rip the stuff I want out so if I don't know you're meeting me and I'm done the parts are gone forever. This is why I'm negotiable on this stuff; want it to go to TXIC so help me make it happen.

* 6. $25 Kartboy short throw shifter

* 7. $50 AutoSpeed dual tip catback exhaust may still be good. (the rest of the turbo back may have made contact with the curb or may still be in good condition)

8. $100 08 STI Top Mount Intercooler

9. $75 Cobb SF Air Intake Tube and Filter

10. $10 Custom Fiberglass GT Elbow (snorkus delete)

11. $100 ProSport Evo Gauges (Oil Pressure and Boost; no hardware only the gauges as it would be difficult to uninstall the senders)

12. $100 AEM Uego Wideband AFR Gauge

13. $5 A-Pillar pod in black

14. $25 SPT Conical Intake Filter

* 15. $40 TurboXS high performance manual boost controller
