Default UTEC ?s

1. What exactly does the UTEC log...Anything as comprehensive as the delta dash?

2. While the stock ECU reads and compensates for things that vary from day to day, such as intake air temps, and humidity, will this pose a problem when tuning the UTEC?

3. Not really a UTEC question but just a question in general. Could anyone help me list all the sensors that the ECU recieves data from, and what functions it controls? This is just to fully understand how certain things will effect the car. Please feel free to just add one or two things, as it is my list is kind of short.

Recieves:
Front 02
IAT
MAF
MAP
Knock

Controls:
IDC (A/F)
Ign. Timing
Boost

Thanks,
Ajay

The question is... what do you want it to log?

The utec has full access to all sensor data. Granted right now between the developers and the beta testers we have what we feel is IMPORTANT. But since all it takes is a software update, ya'll can just as easily make a suggestion box, and if it's warranted the log item can be added.

Resolution is fast BTW

I would think something similar to the deltadash if that was possible. I'm sort of illiterate when it comes to these ecus and the programs needed but I think alot of people like using the delta dash and it might be a good place to start.-James

Well you jsut need the values and excel would be plenty to analyze them well. Can anyone get somewhat specific as to what it actually logs? please! I want to order but am hesitant.

While it's true that the sensor signals monitored by the stock ECU all pass through the UTEC, I wonder whether the UTEC can do anything with the raw signals from the temperature sensors and the front A/F sensor.

RiftsWRX, whenever you have a spare minute, perhaps you could hook up your DeltaDash to the WRX data link connector and monitor, say, A/F Sensor #1 while the UTEC is logging, say, engine coolant temperature and let us know what the DD reports? I suspect you'll find the DD logging or the UTEC logging will be screwed up.

If so, this would confirm a hunch I have about where and how the UTEC is really getting some of its sensor data.

Any chance portions of the UTEC code will be made open source? There are times when you don't want to wait until someone else thinks what you need is important enough to do. Many of us are more than capable of embedded programming. I know that no one wants to make their core IP available to the public, and I'm not sure how much of your code you consider unique enough to protect, but you can easily distribute those modules as precompiled hex files.

What language is the UTEC software written in? Are you using an off the shelf OS? Multithreaded?

Maybe instead of an open source model, you could let a few of your customers modify the source code, after signing an NDA, at no charge as long as the modifications are returned to TurboXS.

Just something I'd like to have access to.

Thanks,
Dustin
