I'm quite surprised to see the Stock body wagon of KatieO leading the competition. The two steel widebody wagons are close.

I'd be curious how much work the top 3 scoobs in current voting have undertaken themselves?

Ha, I personally supervised all the stuff that has been done on my car, hahaha!

I paid for all of it with my own money, does that count too??

But, in all seriousness, mad respect for all the people that have done all the work on their cars themselves and in their own garage!! I don't, currently, have the luxury of working on my car at home, but am super fortunate that I get to tinker on it at MPS, where they can (and will) tell me that I'm a slow paced mechanic, and should just let them do it, so I can go back to my cushy engineering desk job...

Well it's not a stock body due to the sti front end, but I get what you're saying. I'm surprised too.
Both Joe's wagon and Leon's have always been two of my favorites, though not my personal style, I love and respect them both.

This isn't a competition of how much the owners have done to their cars, but as for how much work I've undertaken myself, I've planned, researched and purchased everything on my build.
I'm fortunate enough to have a well-appointed shop right outside my front door so everything on my car with a few exceptions(tune, alignment) has been done at my home where I have access to work slowly and learn.
I've learned to weld while building my cage. Sanded, cleaned and prepped it for paint.
I've learned the full prep process for painting a car from beginning to end.
How to remove the interior almost completely and then put it back together again.
How a breaker bar is your friend due to many stubborn bolts and bloody knuckles.
And that installing extended studs and tgv deletes are a pain in the butt.
And a lot more.

I do not claim to know everything but I'm proud to say have been part of every single step of my build since day one, even helping to install the 3" turboback in 2008.

I have a lot of respect for you Katie, having gone through the same build process myself of needing to learn as I go. I think Top Scoob boils down to things like respect for the build process, or how the end product is unique and different from other builds. It's really not about who has the best pile of parts at the end of the day.

It's about how many people like you.. The best car has a part in sure but if you have respect on the forum then you will go a very long way. Most know me as Girodisc but I don't work for them so any respect I had goes to them.. No big..

Hey Katie... I also have an all metal widebody.... . I tuck the most tire too..

I'm not gonna officially say this but if there was an award for DIY in this lineup, I'd prolly take it..

Which is why Uncle Scotty will never win!

I think it says something that almost all of the Top Scoob winners not only have created incredible cars but also have earned wide spread respect and recognition for their positive contributions as members of this community.

Voted for dayrunner. That is one hot Fozz!

I love the way your Brembos look poking out behind those wheels. It makes me want to buy a new set of wheels to showcase mine.

Thanks Pam! I thought Brian told me what you were going with but I might be wrong? Either way, I appreciate the vote

Thanks everyone (friends and all) for your votes and support.

This car goes beyond being a project or top scoob contestant. My Legacy is a testament to our local Houston community group.

Many people have (in one way or another) been a part of the build. And being on going, will continue to do so.

I just wanted to acknowledge the people who have been involved (too many to name), and am happy to get the LegaSTi some exposure.

So thanks everyone!

I am really confused by peoples votes. I was under the impression that most Nasioc members appreciated the "BEST" in quality builds. (example) Day Runner has a high quality build but I don't think its there yet and for a car to be placed on the front page of NASIOC.COM and represent the Subaru community I would like to see the most BUILT Subaru. Voting is going to be biased anyway so my thoughts will only make some members mad. Nasioc.com is my "go to" website for the best Subaru information out on the web and I hope it will continue to supply as much information to newer member in the future. I love stance, show, and track Subarus and I voted for the car that represented all three of those categories.

Not sure how a 6 speed swapped Foz with Brembos, killer wheels, and a 3 page mod list is lacking?

Edit. I see what you mean. Yes there are many well built cars here, and most anyone left standing at this point is worthy.

Most any of the cars left are worthy and a good example. People build them for different things. TopScoob has their racing events with Drag, time attack and rally. So why would any particular car deserve more attention now that those events were fairly recent?
