Default No start issue

Hello everyone. I have a friend who has an issue and I have no experience with jdm subarus

Car - 94 wrx

Issues - no fuel, no spark, no start

What I know - All the power options work(lights, fans, etc) relays/fuses are good and starter turns over perfect. If you put direct power to either fuel pump or coil pack they work as they should. Ran fine the other day now this..... Any help would be great.

Thanks

Sounds like a main relay issue. This is not one of the relays in the fuse box. And right beside it should be the fuel pump relay.

Anymore info? So you turn ignition and do you hear the pump prime? Engine turns over but wont fire. This is a freak chance but try venting the gas tank for a while. Sounds silly but my jdm has gotten airlock in the fuel system before....wish I knew how i just know I cant corner hard with less then 1/4 tank and if I do and it stalls I vent my gascap and off I go.

When you cycle the key nothing happens. Lights come on but that's it.

so when you try to start it, the engine doesn't crank over or does it crank but doesn't start?

if it cranks over but not getting any fuel or spark, then next thing I would check is for an injector pulse. the easiest way is to unplug one of the injector connecters and put a test light (non led) across the 2 terminals and see if the light flashes when someone turns the engine over. test light should light up with the ignition on, then flash as the engine is cranking. I suspect a bad crank or cam sensor.....unless the timing belt snapped

I was thinking aftermarket immobilizer, but most from that generation usually just have shock sens/appropriate door pins.

I've also had a BAD battery terminal connection do me in real good. Drove my car to a friends house, and wouldn't crank when I was going home. Jump start did nothing. But interestingly enough, everything else worked.

Battery terminals were corroded along the terminal clamp, so the top of the battery looked fine. I guess the theory behind my situation was that using the electronics of the car was fine, but when it required the extra load to crank, the poor terminal contacts just wouldn't handle it.
